A tragic shooting unfolded at Martin’s Super Market in Elkhart, Indiana, on January 27, 2025, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including the suspected shooter, and injuries to two police officers.
Around 5:30 p.m., Elkhart police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the grocery store. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims deceased inside the store. As they engaged with the suspect outside, two officers were wounded, and the suspect was fatally shot. One officer has since been released from the hospital, while the other remains in stable condition.
Authorities have not publicly released the names of the victims, suspect, or the injured officers, pending family notifications. The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation.
Elkhart Police Chief Dan Milanese expressed the community’s grief, stating, “In this horrific situation, words cannot express the pain felt in our community when a tragic incident like this happens.
The incident has left the Elkhart community in mourning as authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
