Around 2:40 a.m., Chicago Police Department officers on patrol heard gunfire near the 7200 block of South Paxton Avenue. Responding to the scene, they found three men inside a residence, all suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as 31-year-old Derrick D. Harris and 37-year-old Devantel Strickland. Both men had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

A third victim, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the right arm. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and was reported to be in good condition.
