The incident occurred on March 10, 2018, when 41-year-old Charvez Ryals ambushed 31-year-old Daniel Wise outside the Lithonia home of Ryals’ girlfriend, Regina Welch. The confrontation stemmed from an argument about a dog, leading Ryals to fatally shoot Wise in front of his children. Ryals was arrested and later convicted of murder and multiple felony charges. He was sentenced to life in prison, plus 65 years, by DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Clarence F. Seeliger.

This tragic event has left a lasting impact on the community and highlights the devastating consequences of escalating domestic disputes.
