The Sunshine Coast community is mourning the tragic loss of Jocelyn Grace Mollee, a vibrant 22-year-old woman whose life was cut short in a devastating incident on the Bruce Highway at Palmview, Queensland. On April 14, 2025, Jocelyn was involved in a six-car crash allegedly caused by 41-year-old Bradley Donald Towle, who was reportedly driving under the influence of drugs. The crash also injured another 22-year-old driver.
Jocelyn was a fourth-year chemical engineering student, remembered by her mother, Amanda Chippendale, as “a beautiful young woman, gentle soul, and a hard worker.” She added, “She was smart, she was kind, she had a wicked sense of humour, a sense of adventure. She wanted to live life to the fullest.
Following the crash, Towle allegedly shot a 62-year-old man in the arm during a carjacking and later stole another vehicle from a 16-year-old girl. He was arrested by police on Steve Irwin Way at Landsborough and charged with 15 offences, including dangerous driving causing death and armed robbery.
Jocelyn’s untimely death has left a profound impact on her family, friends, and the broader community. Her legacy as a bright, compassionate, and ambitious young woman will continue to inspire those who knew her. Funeral arrangements will be announced by her family in the coming days.
