Henna tragically lost her life in a car accident on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, a day that will forever be etched in the memories of her family, friends, and the communities she so gracefully uplifted. In the blink of an eye, a shining star among us was taken far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and love.
A junior at Rutgers University, Henna was studying Psychology with aspirations of pursuing a career in mental health counseling. She believed deeply in the power of empathy and the importance of supporting others through their darkest hours—values she practiced daily through her volunteer work, peer mentorship, and gentle encouragement to all those around her. Her professors and classmates describe her as deeply intelligent, driven, and compassionate—a young woman with a heart full of dreams and a future destined to make the world a better place.
Henna was not only a dedicated student but also an active member of the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at Rutgers, where she found strength, purpose, and a close-knit community. She was known for organizing interfaith events, participating in food drives, and welcoming others with open arms. Her faith was her anchor, and it guided her actions with grace, humility, and unwavering strength.
To her family, Henna was the light of their lives—a devoted daughter and a protective older sister. She brought joy into every room she entered, often with a quick smile, a warm hug, or a thoughtful gesture. Her parents speak of her as their pride and joy, a young woman who carried both responsibility and tenderness with maturity far beyond her years.
