In Loving Memory of Jamie Sue Turner
Columbus Junction, Iowa
April 21, 2002 – April 21, 2025
With deepest sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jamie Sue Turner, who left this world far too soon on April 21, 2025, at the tender age of 23. Jamie was a beacon of light, joy, and compassion to everyone fortunate enough to know them. Their presence enriched the lives of family, friends, and the broader Columbus Junction community in countless ways.
Born and raised in Columbus Junction, Jamie was a proud Iowan whose roots ran deep in the small-town values of kindness, loyalty, and generosity. A graduate of Louisa-Muscatine High School, Jamie was known for their quick wit, infectious laughter, and boundless energy. Whether it was in the classroom, at community events, or just spending time with friends at local spots, Jamie made a lasting impression wherever they went.
Jamie had a gift for connecting with people—whether through a kind word, a genuine smile, or a comforting presence in times of need. They were the kind of person who remembered birthdays, showed up when it mattered most, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Their laughter could light up a room, and their empathy ran deep, touching everyone from close friends to acquaintances who only met them once.
Passionate and creative, Jamie enjoyed painting, music, and photography. They often found inspiration in nature and loved exploring the scenic landscapes of Iowa with their camera in hand. Jamie also had a love for animals, especially dogs, and they could often be found volunteering at the local shelter or caring for neighborhood strays.
Jamie leaves behind a loving family, including parents, siblings, grandparents, and extended relatives, as well as a wide circle of devoted friends. The memories shared with Jamie—the late-night talks, spontaneous road trips, and moments of laughter—will be cherished forever. Though their time on earth was brief, the impact they made will echo in the hearts of all who knew them.
A visitation in Jamie’s honor will be held on Sunday, April 27th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and celebrate the life of someone who meant so much to so many.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Columbus Junction American Legion. All are welcome to join in commemorating Jamie’s vibrant spirit and the love they shared with the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jamie’s memory to a local mental health organization or animal shelter—two causes close to Jamie’s heart.
As we say goodbye to Jamie Sue Turner, let us hold close the beauty of their life and the many ways they touched ours. May their memory be a blessing, and may we strive to carry forward the compassion and light they so freely gave.
Please keep Jamie’s family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
