In Loving Memory of Kristina Marie Cortes
June 12, 1988 – April 22, 2025

Kristina Marie Cortes, age 36, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Her departure leaves a space that can never be filled, but her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.

Born and raised in Macon, Kristina was a light in her community and a constant source of warmth and compassion. She possessed a rare blend of kindness, strength, and grace that made her a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Her deep love for animals, unwavering dedication to her family, and passion for helping others defined the way she lived her life.

Kristina is survived by her devoted husband, Steven Cortes, and their two beautiful daughters, Olivia and Sophia, who were the very heart of her world. To her family, Kristina was more than a mother and a wife — she was a best friend, a gentle guide, and the soul of their home. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love will forever be woven into the lives of her daughters as they grow and carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength.

Those who knew Kristina will remember her for the way she lit up a room with her smile, for her love of nature and animals — especially her rescue dogs and cats — and for the quiet, steady support she offered to everyone around her. Whether she was volunteering at local shelters, organizing school events for her daughters, or simply lending an ear to a friend in need, Kristina lived a life rooted in empathy and service.

A visitation to celebrate Kristina’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sardis-Heard Funeral Home in Macon. Friends, neighbors, and loved ones are invited to share their memories, offer their condolences, and honor the remarkable woman Kristina was.

In keeping with Kristina’s generous spirit and lifelong advocacy for the well-being of others, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to cancer research in Kristina’s name. It was her wish to support the continued fight against the disease that she bravely faced.

Kristina’s time on this earth, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and meaningful connection. Her legacy is one of light — a beacon that will continue to guide her family and friends through the difficult days ahead. She will be remembered not only for her outward beauty, but for the beautiful soul she was inside. Her memory will live on through the kindness she showed, the love she gave, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone lucky enough to have known her.

She will be deeply missed — but never forgotten.
