A somber cloud hangs over the city of Springfield following a tragic discovery early Tuesday morning that has since escalated into a full-scale homicide investigation. Authorities responded to a report around dawn regarding an unresponsive individual near the Riverfront bike path, a usually serene stretch frequented by joggers and cyclists along the Connecticut River.
