A Glastonbury man has been charged in connection with a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred earlier this year. The incident, which took place on January 11, 2025, resulted in the death of 61-year-old Phillip Burleson, a local resident.

The crash occurred on the 100 block of Glastonbury Boulevard around 5:30 p.m., when Burleson was crossing the street with two other pedestrians. They were struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. Burleson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead four days later.

Following an investigation, 69-year-old Michael Taylor of Glastonbury was arrested on April 24, 2025. He faces charges of negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to yield to a pedestrian. Taylor remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He posted a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 15, 2025.

The incident has prompted discussions about pedestrian safety and the importance of adhering to traffic laws to prevent such tragedies.
