Multiple agencies, including the Kingman Police Department (KPD) and the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), are coordinating efforts in pursuit of a man believed to be linked to separate shooting incidents that occurred Wednesday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, the first shooting was reported shortly after 1:00 p.m. in a residential area on the outskirts of Kingman. Emergency services were dispatched following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and a potential victim. A short time later, another shooting incident was reported in the neighboring community of Golden Valley, prompting a swift escalation in the law enforcement response.
Investigators quickly established that both scenes shared a common suspect description: a white male in his late 30s or early 40s, wearing a dark hoodie and jeans, last seen fleeing one of the scenes in a dark-colored pickup truck. Witnesses stated the suspect appeared agitated and may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Authorities have not yet released the name of the individual, but officials have confirmed he is considered “armed, dangerous, and unpredictable.”
As the manhunt intensified into the evening hours, law enforcement set up roadblocks and checkpoints along major thoroughfares, including U.S. Route 93 and Interstate 40, in hopes of intercepting the suspect. Aerial surveillance units, K-9 teams, and SWAT personnel have been deployed to aid in the search. Details about the victims and the motive behind the shootings remain unclear, though unconfirmed reports suggest that the incidents may be connected to a domestic dispute or a targeted confrontation. Medical personnel transported at least two individuals to Kingman Regional Medical Center; their conditions have not been officially disclosed.
The sudden surge of law enforcement presence has left local residents rattled. “It’s terrifying,” said a Golden Valley homeowner who asked not to be identified. “We heard helicopters overhead, then saw police cars racing up the highway. It feels like something out of a movie, but it’s happening right here.”
Schools in the area were placed on temporary lockdown as a precaution, though no threats were reported on any campuses. Kingman Unified School District officials have stated that they will assess the situation closely before deciding on any closures or delays for Thursday.
