It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Simon Lund.

His sudden and unexpected departure has left an irreplaceable void—not only within our own team, but across the entire Hyland Group and the broader CFA (Country Fire Authority) community.

Simon’s contributions to the Brigade and to the communities we serve cannot be overstated. He brought unwavering commitment to every role he undertook, whether it was on the fireground, at training sessions, during committee meetings, or in the quieter, behind-the-scenes moments where his true character shone through. His professionalism, deep knowledge, and calm under pressure set a powerful example for all of us.
