Affectionately known to students, athletes, and the wider Bergenfield community as “Coach V,” Robert’s life was tragically cut short in a devastating car accident on the Taconic State Parkway in New York on May 14, 2025. He was among four lives lost in the collision, an event that has left a community reeling with grief and disbelief.
Robert Violante was not just a teacher or a coach—he was a symbol of inspiration, resilience, and unwavering dedication. As the head football coach at Bergenfield High School, Coach V led with integrity, passion, and an unmatched commitment to shaping young lives both on and off the field.
