With heavy and grieving hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Lillyanne Elizabeth Martin, who departed this life on May 5, 2025, at the young age of 20. Lillyanne was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her — a beloved daughter, cherished sister, loyal friend, and a kind soul whose warmth and laughter brought comfort and joy to those around her.
Born and raised in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Lillyanne carried the strength and resilience of her Appalachian roots, along with a spirit full of dreams and compassion. She was known for her gentle heart, creative mind, and unwavering loyalty to the people she loved. Whether through a quiet word of encouragement, a listening ear, or her infectious smile, Lillyanne had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, valued, and cared for.
She had a deep love for music, nature, and writing — often escaping into poetry or long walks in the woods where she felt closest to peace. Her artistic spirit and empathy left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends. She was the kind of person who remembered birthdays, offered kindness without asking, and stood up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves.
Lillyanne leaves behind a grieving family who loved her beyond words — her parents, siblings, grandparents, and extended family, all of whom carry the weight of her absence with profound sorrow. She also leaves behind countless friends and members of the community who were touched by her presence, her honesty, and her unshakeable kindness.
To honor Lillyanne’s life and the light she brought into this world, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Parkersburg. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend, share memories, and pay tribute to her life — a life short in years but vast in love and meaning.
In this time of grief, we ask that you please hold her family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. May we all find solace in the memories we shared and the love she left behind.
Though gone too soon, Lillyanne’s spirit will remain — in whispered memories, in acts of kindness, and in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Rest in peace, Lillyanne. You will forever be loved, remembered, and missed.
