Andrew Ingram, a contractor associated with Busy Bee Roofing, was taken into custody last night following the issuance of multiple warrants for financial crimes connected to roofing scams in Volusia County. Authorities allege Ingram defrauded several homeowners out of large deposits by accepting payments for work he never completed—or, in some cases, never started at all.
One of the most significant complaints comes from a resident in Port Orange, who reported being scammed out of a $21,000 deposit after hiring Ingram to complete roofing work on their home. Despite paying the deposit in full, the homeowner alleges that no meaningful work was ever performed, and repeated attempts to contact Ingram were met with silence, vague excuses, or outright deception.
Another victim in Edgewater came forward, reporting a loss of $9,000 under similar circumstances. Like the Port Orange case, this homeowner claims Ingram accepted a substantial down payment, offered promises of timely completion, and then vanished without delivering any of the contracted services.
Following these complaints, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) launched an investigation through its Financial Crimes Unit, ultimately leading to the issuance of arrest warrants. Ingram was taken into custody without incident and now faces multiple charges of contractor fraud, theft, and deceptive business practices.
Authorities believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. Busy Bee Roofing had been operating throughout various parts of Volusia County, and investigators are urging anyone who may have been defrauded by Ingram or his business to step forward.

This arrest serves as a stark reminder for homeowners to always verify the credentials of contractors and to be cautious about handing over large sums of money before any work begins. While most contractors operate in good faith, bad actors like Ingram can cause severe financial and emotional harm to unsuspecting customers.
As the investigation continues, VSO is working to piece together the full scope of Ingram’s alleged activities. The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and proactive in reporting suspected scams.
