The Town of Oakville, Ontario, is mourning the unexpected passing of Matthew “Matt” Philpott, a dedicated Parks & Open Space employee, who died on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the age of 38. In recognition of his service and contributions, flags at all town facilities were lowered to half-mast from May 16 until sunset on May 21, 2025 .
