21-Year-Old Arrested After Baton Rouge Road Rage Shooting Leaves Man Critically Injured

A 21-year-old man has been arrested following a road rage incident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that left another man critically injured.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported that the incident occurred on Thursday evening, May 22, 2025, around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Florida Boulevard and Sharp Road. According to authorities, an argument stemming from road rage escalated when the suspect exited his vehicle wielding a long gun and threatened another driver and his passenger. The victims attempted to flee, but the suspect pursued them, eventually pulling alongside their vehicle and firing a single shot into the passenger side, striking the driver.

After the shooting, the suspect fled west on Florida Boulevard, colliding with two other vehicles before being apprehended by police. The injured driver was transported to a hospital in critical condition, while the passenger was unharmed.

The suspect, identified as Stefan Scott, was arrested on Friday, May 23. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting, illegal use of weapons, and fugitive charges. Scott is currently being held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
