ACTIVE INVESTIGATION

 

The Cape Coral Police Department is currently engaged in an active and evolving investigation concerning a missing person, Brenda Corbin. This case is being handled with the utmost urgency and care as our officers work tirelessly to locate answers and bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

In connection with this missing person investigation, we are coordinating efforts with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office on a related death investigation. Law enforcement personnel from both agencies, along with representatives from the Medical Examiner’s Office, are collaborating closely to determine whether these two investigations are linked.

As part of this joint effort, a body has been recovered in Charlotte County. The identity of the individual is not yet confirmed, and it is essential that the process of identification be conducted with precision and respect for both the potential victim and their loved ones. The identification process includes forensic examination, comparison of records, and other investigatory protocols, all of which take time to ensure accuracy and integrity.

At this point in the investigation, no further details will be released regarding the recovered body or any potential connection to Brenda Corbin.
