HOLLY HILL, S.C. — Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced late Thursday that an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier that day in Holly Hill.
“My investigators were able to locate and take this individual into custody before the day was out,” said Sheriff Ravenell. “This is just another senseless act that defies any logic at all.”
Authorities have identified the suspect as 21-year-old Killah Scott of Holly Hill. Scott has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery, and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The charges stem from an incident reported around 5 p.m. Thursday, when a caller told authorities that he and a female companion had driven to a location to meet someone. During the encounter, a male subject reportedly opened fire, striking the female.
The caller fled the scene and drove to a location near Holly Hill Elementary School, where he met responding deputies. The injured female’s condition has not yet been released.
Sheriff Ravenell confirmed that investigators were able to take Scott into custody later that evening.
If convicted, Scott could face up to 30 years in prison on the attempted murder charges alone.
