Pageland, S.C. — 7-Year-Old Girl Critically Injured in Drive-By Shooting While Asleep in Her Home
The tight-knit community of Pageland, South Carolina, is grappling with shock and sorrow following a devastating act of violence that left 7-year-old Skylar Baker critically injured. In the early hours of Sunday, June 1, 2025, Skylar was shot in the head while sleeping in her bed during a suspected drive-by shooting at her family’s residence on Brewer Circle.
According to the Pageland Police Department, the shooting occurred around 1:17 a.m. Skylar was airlifted to a hospital for emergency treatment and remains in critical condition. The police expressed their heartbreak over the incident, stating, “The 7-year-old little girl did not deserve this careless act of violence.”
Chesterfield County Councilperson Ethan Foard, who represents the area, highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that Skylar was shot through the wall of her house while she was sleeping. He emphasized the need for accountability, urging anyone with information to come forward.
