In Loving Memory of Kathleen R. “Katie” Lecker: A Cherished Heart of Shawano

SHAWANO, WISCONSIN — With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, the family and friends of Kathleen R. “Katie” Lecker share the news of her passing on June 12, 2025. A beloved daughter, sister, friend, and neighbor, Katie was a beacon of warmth and compassion whose gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loss is felt profoundly across the Shawano community and beyond.

Katie was known not only for her kind heart, but for the quiet strength she carried through life. Whether offering a helping hand, listening without judgment, or simply brightening someone’s day with her sincere smile, Katie had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued. She had a calm presence that made people feel safe, and a heart that welcomed everyone without hesitation.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Katie’s life reflected a deep love for her family and community. She was the kind of person who remembered birthdays, brought soup to neighbors during hard times, and sent handwritten notes just because. Her generosity was never about grand gestures, but about the small, thoughtful acts that left a lasting impact.

Katie took great pride in her roots and was deeply involved in the Shawano community throughout her life. Whether through her work, church activities, or her support of local events, she showed her dedication to the people and place she called home. She was always willing to lend her time and heart to help others, and her humility often meant she shied away from recognition.

Katie also found beauty and joy in the simple things — walks through nature, the changing of the seasons, the laughter of loved ones, and quiet evenings spent with a good book. She embraced life with grace and gratitude, even in its most challenging moments.

To those who knew her best, Katie was a loyal confidante, a source of comfort, and a steadfast presence in a changing world. Her memory will continue to be cherished by her loving family, including her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and lifelong friends. Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

A visitation in honor of Katie’s life will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service in Shawano. Family, friends, and community members are invited to attend and share memories, celebrate her life, and offer support to one another during this difficult time.

As we remember Kathleen R. “Katie” Lecker, we hold tightly to the legacy she leaves behind — one of kindness, compassion, and quiet strength. May we find comfort in her memory and strive to carry forward the goodness she so freely shared with the world.
