MUNCIE, Indiana – Predator Arrested in Major Child Sex Crime Case; Over 30,000 Files of Child Pornography Allegedly Discovered

MUNCIE, Indiana – The city of Muncie and surrounding Central Indiana communities are reeling after the arrest of a man accused of committing a horrifying spree of sexual violence against children. Authorities have arrested 34-year-old John Dockery Jr., who now faces an extensive list of charges related to the sexual abuse and exploitation of multiple minors.

According to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation into Dockery began after law enforcement received tips concerning suspicious online activity connected to child pornography. A joint task force composed of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies launched a comprehensive investigation that culminated in Dockery’s arrest.

Following a raid at Dockery’s residence, officers reportedly uncovered more than 30,000 files of child pornography stored across several digital devices. The content was described as graphic, disturbing, and involving victims of various ages. The sheer volume and nature of the material shocked even veteran investigators.

List of Charges Filed Against John Dockery Jr.:

Dockery is currently facing an avalanche of serious charges, including but not limited to:

  • 14 counts of Rape (Level 3 Felony)
  • Kidnapping (Level 3 Felony)
  • Promotion of Child Sexual Trafficking (Level 3 Felony)
  • Sexual Misconduct with a Minor (Level 4 Felony)
  • Promotion of Human Sexual Trafficking (Level 4 Felony)
  • 10 counts of Child Pornography (Level 6 Felony)
  • 3 counts of Dissemination of Harmful Matter to a Juvenile (Level 6 Felony)

Authorities revealed that Dockery is suspected of targeting multiple victims across various parts of Central Indiana, luring them through manipulation, coercion, and in some cases, alleged physical force. Investigators believe that some of the victims may have been trafficked for sex, and at least one child was reportedly transported across state lines.

Community Outrage and Law Enforcement Response

The case has sparked outrage throughout Muncie and neighboring communities. Advocacy groups for child safety have called for swift justice and increased resources to protect minors from predators like Dockery.

“This is a predator who operated in plain sight while allegedly committing one of the most extensive patterns of abuse we’ve seen in this region,” said an investigator familiar with the case. “These victims deserve justice, healing, and protection. That’s our mission now.”

Investigation Continues

As of now, John Dockery Jr. is being held without bond in the Delaware County Jail. Investigators are combing through the thousands of files retrieved from his devices to identify additional victims and determine whether he was part of a larger trafficking or exploitation network.

Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that may be helpful to the ongoing investigation. If you or someone you know may have had contact with Dockery or believe you are a victim, you are encouraged to contact the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

This case underscores the ongoing threat of online exploitation and the importance of vigilance, education, and timely reporting in the fight against crimes targeting children.

More updates are expected as the case proceeds through the legal system.
