TRAGIC DISCOVERY AT EAGLE MOUNTAIN LAKE: MISSING MAN’S BODY FOUND AFTER INTENSIVE SEARCH
EAGLE MOUNTAIN LAKE, TX — A heartbreaking chapter has come to a close after days of anxious searching ended in tragedy. Authorities have confirmed that the body of 41-year-old Ruben Fausone, who went missing during a solo fishing trip, was discovered on the morning of June 11, 2025, in the waters of Eagle Mountain Lake.
Fausone was first reported missing on the evening of June 10 after failing to return home from what was supposed to be a peaceful outing at Twin Points Park. Concern grew rapidly when his unoccupied truck and trailer were discovered in the parking lot late that night, with no sign of Ruben. Later, his empty boat was found adrift on the lake, raising immediate fears of a water-related accident.
Emergency services, including the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens, and local dive teams, launched a coordinated search effort late Tuesday and into the early hours of Wednesday. Crews utilized sonar technology, search boats, and dive teams to comb the lake’s surface and depths in hopes of locating the missing man. Tragically, their efforts culminated in the recovery of Fausone’s body near the vicinity where his boat had been found, confirming the community’s worst fears.
At this time, investigators do not suspect foul play. Authorities believe the incident was a tragic accident that occurred while Fausone was on the water, though the exact circumstances remain unclear. Weather conditions on the lake that evening were reportedly stable, leaving open questions as to what may have led to the fatal outcome. An autopsy has been ordered by the medical examiner’s office to determine the official cause of death.
News of Fausone’s death has sent waves of grief throughout the Eagle Mountain Lake community and beyond. Friends and loved ones remember him as a dedicated family man and an avid outdoorsman who frequently found solace and joy in nature, especially on the water. Social media has since been flooded with messages of remembrance, condolences, and tributes honoring his life.
“This was a man who loved the lake, who loved fishing, and who loved his family more than anything,” one friend wrote in a heartfelt post. “It’s devastating to lose him this way. We are praying for peace and comfort for his family.”
Local leaders have offered their condolences and reminded lake visitors of the importance of prioritizing safety, even for experienced boaters and fishermen. Life jackets, emergency communication devices, and other precautionary measures can mean the difference between life and death on open water.
As the community mourns, many have expressed gratitude to the emergency responders who worked tirelessly during the search. A small memorial has been set up at Twin Points Park near the launch area, where flowers and messages have been placed in honor of Fausone.
The tragedy serves as a sobering reminder of the unpredictable nature of water recreation and the fragile line between serenity and danger, even in familiar places. For the family of Ruben Fausone, that peaceful lake will now forever carry the weight of a cherished life lost too soon.
