Roman Pollock and Kamran Kamran Charged After Fatal Street Racing Crash in Sugar Land
SUGAR LAND, TX — A dangerous street race ended in tragedy Saturday night when a high-speed crash on Highway 6 claimed the life of an uninvolved driver. Now, 20-year-old Roman Pollock of Fresno, Texas, and 26-year-old Kamran Kamran of Houston are both facing manslaughter charges as the Sugar Land Police Department (SLPD) investigates the deadly incident.
The crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. on June 22, 2025, when authorities say Pollock, driving a Ford Mustang, and Kamran, behind the wheel of a BMW, were racing down the highway. During the race, Pollock’s Mustang struck a Toyota Camry, fatally injuring the driver — an innocent motorist who was not involved in the race.
Roman Pollock Remained at the Scene; Kamran Kamran Fled
After the crash, Roman Pollock remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Kamran Kamran, however, fled before officers arrived. An investigation led to his identification and subsequent arrest.
Both men are now facing the following charges:
•Roman Pollock has been charged with Manslaughter
•Kamran Kamran is charged with Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending family notification.
SLPD Condemns Illegal Street Racing
The Sugar Land Police Department is emphasizing that this tragic crash was entirely preventable and is a sobering example of the risks associated with street racing.
“This was a senseless loss of life caused by reckless and selfish behavior,” an SLPD spokesperson said. “Roman Pollock and Kamran Kamran made a choice to endanger lives by racing on a public roadway, and an innocent person paid the ultimate price.”
Street racing is illegal under Texas law and considered a felony offense when it results in injury or death. The department stated that additional charges could follow as the investigation progresses.
Community Anger and Heartbreak
Residents in the area have expressed sorrow and outrage in the aftermath of the crash, especially given the victim’s innocence.
“That could’ve been any of us,” said one Sugar Land resident. “People treat Highway 6 like a drag strip, and someone finally died because of it. Roman Pollock and Kamran Kamran should have never been behind the wheel racing like that.”
Several community members are now calling for increased police presence, better street lighting, and stronger measures to prevent future incidents like this.
Investigation Continues
The SLPD’s crash investigation unit is continuing to examine evidence, review surveillance footage, and gather witness statements. Prosecutors are expected to pursue the case aggressively, especially given the fatal outcome.
Authorities are asking anyone with further information about the incident to contact the Sugar Land Police Department or leave an anonymous tip through Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers.
Tip Line: 281-275-2500
The department concluded its public statement with a stern warning to others who may consider engaging in similar behavior.
“Street racing isn’t just illegal — it’s deadly,” said the SLPD spokesperson. “If you race on our streets, we will arrest you. If your actions take a life, you will be held fully accountable — just as Roman Pollock and Kamran Kamran are being now.”
