MARYLAND NON-VEHICLE SILVER ALERT ISSUED FOR MISSING 78-YEAR-OLD MAN
GAITHERSBURG, MD – June 27, 2025 — The Montgomery County Police Department has issued a Non-Vehicle Silver Alert as part of an urgent appeal to the public for help in locating a missing elderly man, William Heyward, 78, who was last seen this morning in the Gaithersburg area.
According to authorities, Mr. Heyward was last spotted around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, near the 7900 block of Brenish Drive in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Since then, there has been no confirmed sighting or communication from him.
Mr. Heyward is described as:
- Black male
- 5 feet 8 inches tall
- 150 pounds
- Brown eyes
- Gray hair
- Last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans
At this time, it is unknown if Mr. Heyward is on foot or if he may have entered a vehicle after leaving the area. However, due to his age and possible cognitive or medical vulnerabilities, the Non-Vehicle Silver Alert protocol has been activated in an effort to mobilize community awareness.
Montgomery County authorities are urging anyone in the Gaithersburg area, especially around Brenish Drive, to check their home security cameras and to remain vigilant. Every moment is critical in ensuring Mr. Heyward’s safe return.
