One Man Killed, Three Others Injured in Early Morning Shooting at 24th and Lister
Kansas City, MO – June 28, 2025 > A violent early morning shooting has left one man dead and three others injured in Kansas City, intensifying community concerns about escalating gun violence in the area.
At approximately 2:10 a.m., Kansas City police officers responded to multiple reports of gunfire near the intersection of 24th Street and Lister Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate attempts by first responders to render aid, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional Victims Flee Scene
As investigators began securing the scene, it was quickly revealed that three additional adult male victims had fled the location before officers arrived. Authorities were able to locate all three individuals a short time later. Kansas City Police Department detectives are actively canvassing the area, searching for witnesses, video surveillance footage, and any other information that might help identify those responsible for the shooting.
Officers spent the early morning hours interviewing residents, marking evidence, and combing nearby streets and alleyways for shell casings or additional forensic clues. Investigators have not yet shared whether a suspect description is available or if any arrests have been made.
