ROANOKE, VA — The Roanoke Police Department is actively searching for 24-year-old Rayjuan Antonio Calloway, who is wanted in connection with the deadly shooting of his father that occurred in Northwest Roanoke on June 28, 2025. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help locate Calloway, who is considered armed and dangerous.

Details of the Incident

At approximately 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, Roanoke Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of 7th Street NW following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male inside the home, deceased from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was later confirmed to be the father of Rayjuan Calloway, though police have not released the victim’s name publicly pending formal identification and family notification.

The scene was secured as detectives and forensic teams launched a full-scale homicide investigation, interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance footage or additional evidence. Through preliminary findings, investigators quickly identified Calloway as the primary suspect in the killing.

Rayjuan Antonio Calloway is described as a Black male, 24 years old, and was last seen possibly driving a white Honda Accord with Virginia license plate VTA-7996. Calloway remains at large as of Sunday, and his current whereabouts are unknown. Investigators are working to determine the motive behind the shooting, but they have confirmed the victim and suspect had a familial relationship.
