TRINITY COUNTY, TEXAS — A Trinity County Animal Control Officer has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, according to a statement released by Sheriff Woody Wallace on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The suspect, identified as Brandon Furman, was immediately placed on administrative leave and removed from his duties following the initial report of the alleged crime.
Authorities say the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) was first notified of the allegations on July 1. In an effort to ensure impartiality and integrity in the handling of the investigation, Sheriff Wallace requested that Trinity County Precinct 2 Constable Mark Cole take the lead on the case.
Following a prompt and thorough preliminary investigation, Constable Cole and investigators determined that there was sufficient probable cause to pursue an arrest warrant for Furman. Details about the alleged incident, including the identity of the victim and the nature of the evidence, have not been released due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of a minor.
