It is with heavy hearts that the O’Connor’s team shares the heartbreaking news of the passing of John Bearce, our esteemed Used Car Manager, and a cherished member of our work family for more than two decades. John’s presence at O’Connor Auto Park was more than professional—it was foundational. His deep-rooted knowledge, steady guidance, and unwavering integrity made him not just a colleague, but a true cornerstone of our team.
John brought with him decades of experience in the automotive industry, having worked with respected dealerships such as Cold Brook Saab, Davis Auto Mall, and Chambers Chevrolet before ultimately becoming part of the O’Connor family. His extensive background, paired with a natural gift for the business, made him a standout professional who raised the bar for everyone around him.
What set John apart, beyond his experience, was his meticulous nature. He approached every detail of his work—and his life—with care and precision. Whether it was organizing the used car inventory, reviewing data sheets, or setting up a vehicle on the lot, John made sure everything was “just so.” He had a deep appreciation for cleanliness and order, something we all admired. On days off, especially when the sun was shining, you could find him washing his car with pride, a ritual that reflected not only his love for automobiles but his larger philosophy: take care of the things you value, and do so with pride and purpose.
John was known for having a remarkable memory, particularly when it came to numbers. Whether it was VINs, pricing, inventory figures, or timelines, his recall and accuracy were unmatched. His attention to detail and efficiency made him a trusted source for both his coworkers and our customers. He approached each interaction with honesty and reliability, earning the respect and admiration of everyone who crossed his path.
Yet beyond the professionalism, John will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, and his quiet loyalty. He was a devoted and loving husband, a steadfast friend, and someone who genuinely cared about the people around him. His love for the sea, his respect for the road, and his unwavering sense of responsibility were all defining traits of a man who lived with intention and humility.
To those of us who worked alongside John, his absence will be deeply felt—his steady presence, his dry wit, his sharp eye, and his quiet strength are irreplaceable. We are grateful for the years of friendship, laughter, and shared goals, and we will carry his memory forward in the work we do every day.
To his family and loved ones, we offer our deepest condolences. Please know that you are in our hearts, and that John’s legacy will live on here at O’Connor’s—in our stories, our values, and the high standards he helped establish.
Rest in peace, John Bearce. Thank you for your years of service, your friendship, and the example you set for us all.
You will be missed more than words can say.
