In Loving Memory of Mary Frances Kurzawski — A Life Full of Grace, Love, and Devotion

The city of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, finds itself enveloped in grief and reflection as it mourns the untimely passing of Mary Frances Kurzawski, who departed this life on June 22, 2025, at the age of 36. A beloved wife, mother, daughter, friend, and neighbor, Mary Frances was a radiant soul who touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her compassion, humility, and steadfast spirit.

Born and raised in North Carolina, Mary Frances was known for her warm heart and deep sense of empathy. Whether offering a helping hand to a neighbor in need or lending a listening ear to a friend going through hard times, she carried herself with grace and sincerity. Her gentle smile and comforting presence made even the hardest days a little lighter for those around her.

Mary Frances was the cornerstone of her family. She shared an unbreakable bond with her devoted husband, Daniel Kurzawski, and together they built a home filled with love, faith, and laughter. As a mother to Stephanie and Stephen Kurzawski, Mary Frances was both nurturing and strong. She took immense pride in watching her children grow into the kind, driven young individuals they are today. Her love for them knew no limits, and her influence will live on in their hearts and choices.

Beyond her family life, Mary Frances was deeply involved in her community and her church. A long-standing member of the Roanoke Rapids Church of God, she participated in women’s ministry groups, volunteered in children’s programs, and often helped organize events that brought people together. Her faith was the foundation of her strength and guided her through both joy and hardship. She lived her beliefs not just through words, but in every act of kindness she extended.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; their two children, Stephanie and Stephen; her parents, siblings, in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of friends who considered her family. Each of them carries forward a piece of her — her spirit of service, her belief in love over judgment, and her quiet but powerful resilience.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, where loved ones and community members will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her beautiful life. The funeral service will follow at the Roanoke Rapids Church of God, where the sanctuary she once filled with worship and joy will now serve as the place where her life is lovingly remembered and celebrated.

Though her time on Earth was far too short, the legacy of Mary Frances Kurzawski will endure. She lived with purpose and gave her heart freely. In her passing, as in her life, she brings the community together — not in sorrow alone, but in gratitude for having known someone so genuine and good.

As we remember Mary Frances, let us honor her memory by extending kindness, cherishing our loved ones, and living with the same heartfelt intention that she so effortlessly embodied.

Rest in peace, Mary Frances. You were — and will always be — deeply loved.
