Born on June 7, 1990, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Marc was the son of Michael and Elaine Schmitt. He was known for his quiet demeanor, dedication to family, and passion for motorcycles. His brother, Eric Schmitt, shared that they had planned to meet on the day of the accident. When Marc didn’t arrive as expected, Eric became concerned and, upon retracing Marc’s route, came upon the accident scene.

According to the Greensboro Police Department, the driver of the minivan, Hani Mohammed Sad, 42, was making a left turn from Lindley Road onto West Friendly Avenue when he failed to yield the right of way, resulting in the collision. Sad has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, failing to yield the right of way, operating a vehicle without insurance, borrowing a registration plate, and a window tint violation.

In the wake of Marc’s passing, family and friends gathered to honor his memory and advocate for increased awareness of motorcycle safety.
