Florence County, SC — A tight-knit South Carolina neighborhood is in shock following a harrowing shooting incident that left two adults injured and a juvenile emotionally traumatized. The Florence County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that 31-year-old Antwan Bradley has been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred earlier this week in a residential area of Florence.
Deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders quickly rendered aid at the scene before transporting the victims to a nearby medical facility. Both victims are expected to recover, though their physical and emotional wounds will take time to heal.
Adding to the gravity of the incident, a juvenile who was present during the shooting was left visibly shaken and traumatized after witnessing the violence unfold. Authorities have since provided crisis support and counseling services for the child, who remains under the care of family members and mental health professionals.
Investigators identified Antwan Bradley as the primary suspect in the shooting. Details on the motive remain under investigation, though early reports suggest that the altercation may have stemmed from a personal dispute. Bradley was apprehended without incident and is currently being held in the Florence County Detention Center. He faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and child endangerment.
Residents of the neighborhood say the violence has rattled their sense of safety and sparked urgent calls for increased community policing and mental health outreach. “This isn’t something we expect to happen on our street,” one neighbor said. “There were children outside. It could’ve been even worse.”
Florence County Sheriff T.J. Joye expressed relief over the swift arrest and emphasized the importance of healing and justice. “We are grateful no lives were lost, and we are working diligently to ensure accountability,” Joye said. “Our hearts go out to the victims and especially to the young child who will carry the memory of this day for the rest of their life.”
As the investigation continues, officials urge anyone with additional information about the shooting to contact the Florence County Sheriff’s Office or submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee. The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and support one another as they process the aftermath of this senseless act.
Bradley is expected to make his first court appearance later this week. Authorities say more charges could be forthcoming as the case develops.
