Latravion Stallworth, 18, Killed in Mass Shooting on Keyser Avenue in Natchitoches; Five Others Injured

NATCHITOCHES, La. — A mass shooting in the early hours of Sunday, July 6, 2025, has claimed the life of 18-year-old Latravion Stallworth, leaving five others wounded in a horrifying outbreak of gun violence on Keyser Avenue in Natchitoches.

The Natchitoches Police Department reports that at approximately 1:41 a.m., officers on patrol heard multiple gunshots coming from the 300 block of Keyser Avenue. They immediately responded, alongside deputies from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and troopers with Louisiana State Police.

Upon arrival, officers discovered six individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Among them was Latravion Stallworth, who was found unresponsive at the scene. Despite immediate efforts by first responders, he was pronounced dead by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.

Stallworth, a native of Natchitoches, was described by those who knew him as a bright and driven young man with his whole life ahead of him. His sudden and violent death has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving loved ones grieving and searching for answers.

Five additional victims were rushed to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for emergency treatment. According to hospital officials, three of the individuals were treated for their injuries and released later that morning. The remaining two victims sustained more serious wounds and were transferred to medical facilities in Caddo Parish and Rapides Parish, where they remain in stable condition.

Investigators spent the early morning hours combing the crime scene for evidence, interviewing witnesses, and securing surveillance footage from nearby businesses. While a significant amount of forensic material has been collected, no suspects have been identified or apprehended at this time. Authorities have not yet released a motive or confirmed whether the shooting was targeted.
