In Loving Memory of Steven W. Wright: A Devoted Father, Loyal Friend, and Lover of Life

The Coshocton and Warsaw communities are mourning the loss of Steven W. Wright, who passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville at the age of 55. His unexpected passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on April 29, 1970, in Coshocton, Steven was the son of the late Gary Wright and Marian Middaugh. He was a proud graduate of Coshocton High School, Class of 1988, and built a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. Steven was currently employed at Kraft Heinz in Coshocton, where he was known for his reliability, dedication, and friendly demeanor.

Steven’s life was a beautiful blend of hard work, laughter, and love for the simple joys. He found happiness working outdoors at his home, always keeping his yard well-kept and his hands busy. A passionate sports fan, Steven cheered relentlessly for the Miami Dolphins and the Ohio State Buckeyes, rarely missing a game and always rooting for his teams with unwavering loyalty.

Beyond sports, Steven had a special connection to nature. He looked forward each year to traveling to the Tennessee mountains — a place that gave him peace and a sense of adventure. He was especially fascinated by brown and black bears, often spending hours observing them in the wild, captivated by their strength and beauty.

Above all, Steven was a devoted father, grandfather, and companion. He poured his heart into his family, always putting them first and finding joy in their accomplishments and company. He is survived by his loving children: Janice “Gabby” (JJ) Tarman, Ashley (Garett) Rogers, and Skyler Wright, all of Coshocton; and his cherished grandchildren: Jameson, Zaryna, Ayzlee, Holden, and Wrenlen. He also leaves behind his siblings Bill (Brenda) Wright of Raleigh, NC, Duane (Kathy) Wright of Newcomerstown, and Missy Wright of Coshocton.

Steven shared many loving years with his long-time companion Melanie Dickerson of Warsaw, and became a supportive figure to her children Tyler (Cierra) Dickerson and Kyle (Brandon) Anderson, and grandchildren Hensleigh, Copeland, and Imrie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Tracy Wright, whom he dearly missed and remembered fondly.

A visitation will be held at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM, officiated by Major Vicki Clark. All who knew and loved Steven are encouraged to attend and celebrate the life of a man whose presence brought joy, strength, and kindness to those around him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Donations can be made directly on Steven’s webpage via the funeral home’s website or in person at the funeral home, where envelopes will be provided.

Steven Wright will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous heart, and deep love for his family. Though he may no longer walk among us, his legacy lives on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the memories shared around the dinner table, and the Tennessee mountain trails he once roamed. May his spirit rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
