With Sadness in Our Souls and the Heaviest of Hearts
It’s with sadness in our souls and the heaviest of hearts that we reach out on this public platform, asking for help from anyone and everyone who may see this. On Thursday, April 24th, 2025, our beloved brother, Jonathan Hickman, was tragically taken from us in a devastating motorcycle accident.
Jonathan was just 37 years old — full of life, love, laughter, and a future that he had built so carefully and selflessly for his family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Marissa, a dedicated nurse at the VA in Cleveland, Ohio, who spends countless hours caring for others. Together, they built a beautiful life and were raising two precious sons: Henry, age 4, and Elwood, just 1 year old. Now, these two young boys will grow up without the incredible father who loved them with every fiber of his being.
Jonathan was a light in every room he entered — his laugh, so genuine and full of life, was truly contagious. He was a family man in every sense of the word. His sons were the center of his universe, and he adored his wife, Marissa, whom he affectionately called his “honey pie.” His love for life was apparent in everything he did — from his passion for music to his willingness to help anyone at any time, no questions asked. If you needed him, Jonathan would be there. That was just who he was: a man with an enormous heart and an unshakable spirit.
Our hearts are shattered, and the hole left in our family is something that can never truly be filled. In this unimaginable time of grief and hardship, we humbly ask for your support. Any donation, no matter how small, will go toward funeral expenses, hospital bills, and to help Marissa, Henry, and Elwood navigate this new and painful reality without Jonathan.
No one ever plans for such a sudden and profound loss. Jonathan did not have the chance to prepare for a life cut this short. As a family, we are doing everything we can to come together, but we know that the road ahead will be difficult, and we cannot do it alone.
Please, if you are able, consider donating. If you cannot donate, we would be deeply grateful if you could share this message and help us spread the word. Every act of kindness, every prayer, and every share helps more than we can say.
From the bottom of our broken hearts, thank you for reading, thank you for donating if you can, and thank you for simply caring. Your support means more than you will ever know.
With deepest gratitude and love,
The Hickman Family
