Tragic Collision Claims Lives of Two Men in West Phoenix
The West Phoenix community is mourning the loss of two men following a devastating two-vehicle collision late Friday night, April 18, 2025. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Orangewood Avenue.​
According to the Phoenix Police Department, 23-year-old Donnie Martinez was driving northbound on 43rd Avenue when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Ricardo Quintero. Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported both men to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. ​
Authorities have not yet determined whether factors such as impairment or excessive speed contributed to the crash. The Phoenix Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit is actively examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.​
