Tragic Rollover Crash on I-96 Claims Life of 17-Year-Old; Two Others Injured

A devastating single-vehicle accident occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 96 in Ingham County, Michigan, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old male and critical injuries to a 20-year-old passenger. The crash took place around 7:20 a.m. when the sedan they were traveling in veered off the roadway, rolled over, and ejected both young men. The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 20-year-old was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.​

The 22-year-old driver sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalized. A fourth passenger in the vehicle escaped the incident without injury. Authorities have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved, and preliminary investigations indicate that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. The exact cause of the vehicle’s sudden departure from the road remains under investigation.​
