Rochester Police Department (RPD) officers responded to the scene and confirmed that gunshots had been fired in a nearby plaza. Approximately an hour later, a man was spotted fleeing the area and was apprehended on Seneca Avenue. He was found in possession of a loaded 9mm “ghost gun” and was identified as 20-year-old D’Adrian Tucker. Tucker was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon. However, authorities stated that he does not appear to be directly involved in the East Ridge Road shooting.
The RPD has indicated that this incident may be connected to an ongoing investigation in Brockport, though specific details regarding the nature of this connection have not been disclosed. Investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and any potential links to other cases.
This event adds to a series of violent incidents in the Rochester area. Notably, on February 23, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred on Alphonse Street, where 15-year-old Suade McKnight was killed. Two individuals, Raymere Alexander and Brandon Williams, were later convicted in connection with that case.
The RPD continues to investigate the recent shooting and urges anyone with information to come forward. Community cooperation is essential in addressing and preventing such acts of violence.
