In Loving Memory of Rebecca Lynn Huntzinger

August 15, 1974 – April 26, 2025
Yakima, Washington

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rebecca Lynn Huntzinger, who departed this life on April 26, 2025, at the age of 50. A lifelong resident of Yakima, Washington, Rebecca was a beloved daughter, friend, and devoted animal lover whose light touched the lives of many.

Born on August 15, 1974, to William and Bonnie Huntzinger, Rebecca was a vibrant, caring, and thoughtful soul from the very beginning. Her childhood was filled with laughter, curiosity, and a love for animals that would follow her throughout her life. Her parents often fondly recalled her uncanny ability to befriend any creature, whether feathered, furred, or finned.

Rebecca attended local schools in Yakima and graduated with pride, later pursuing a variety of interests that reflected her artistic and empathetic nature. She had a passion for crafting, painting, and tending to gardens—finding peace and purpose in nurturing life in all its forms. Whether it was her flourishing backyard flower beds or the quiet moments spent painting nature scenes, she found beauty in the simple things and shared that joy freely with others.

Throughout her life, Rebecca was guided by compassion. She volunteered her time with local shelters and animal rescue organizations, helping to find homes for countless animals in need. Those who knew her best remember her not only for her fierce loyalty but for her humor, her generosity, and the gentle way she supported those around her.

Rebecca’s home was always full of warmth—and of pets. Her beloved animals were not just companions, but family. She treated each one with the love and respect she gave to everyone in her life. Even in her final days, her thoughts remained with the well-being of her pets, a testament to the kindness that defined her spirit.

She is survived by her loving parents, William and Bonnie Huntzinger, who were not only her greatest supporters but her closest friends. Their bond was unshakable, a source of comfort and joy to one another through every chapter of life. Though she did not have children of her own, Rebecca’s nurturing presence made her a guiding figure to many nieces, nephews, and younger friends, whom she inspired with her warmth and wisdom.

Her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved her, but her memory will live on in the many lives she touched. Rebecca’s legacy is one of compassion, creativity, and unwavering love—qualities that will continue to shine in the hearts of her family, friends, and the animals she held dear.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Keith and Keith Funeral Home in Yakima. A funeral service to celebrate Rebecca’s life and legacy will take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM, also at Keith and Keith.

The Huntzinger family extends heartfelt thanks to the friends, neighbors, and community members who have offered their support during this difficult time. Your kindness and memories of Rebecca bring great comfort.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Rebecca’s honor to the Yakima Humane Society or a local animal rescue of your choice.

May we all remember Rebecca Lynn Huntzinger as she truly was—gentle, radiant, and deeply loved.
