In Loving Memory of Dennis Giron-Cortes
On the afternoon of Friday, April 18, 2025, a tragic accident claimed the life of Dennis Giron-Cortes, a 36-year-old resident of Woodburn, Oregon. The single-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 99W near Northeast Youngman Lane in Yamhill County.
According to the Oregon State Police, Dennis was driving northbound in a Toyota Corolla when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the roadway, rolled onto its roof, and collided with a utility pole. The impact was so severe that it snapped the pole in half, causing live power lines to fall onto the highway. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Dennis was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have indicated that speed was a primary factor in the crash .
The accident led to significant disruptions, with Highway 99W closed for approximately four and a half hours as crews worked to investigate the scene and restore power lines .
Dennis’s sudden passing has left a void in the lives of his family, friends, and community. Known for his vibrant spirit and warm heart, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
