In Loving Memory of Mathew J. Elton

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Mathew J. Elton, who left this world on May 13, 2025. A beloved member of the Faribault community, Mathew was known for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and the profound love he carried for his family, friends, and neighbors.

Born and raised in Minnesota, Mathew made Faribault his lifelong home—a place where he forged lasting relationships and made a meaningful impact on countless lives. He had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, always offering a warm smile or a word of encouragement when it was needed most. Whether sharing a quiet cup of coffee, lending a helping hand, or cheering on local sports, Mathew had a way of showing up for the people he cared about.

Mathew’s legacy is one of compassion, humility, and joy. He approached life with gratitude and grace, never taking a moment for granted. To those who knew him best, Mathew was more than a friend or family member—he was a steady presence, a beacon of calm and comfort during life’s storms. His love for storytelling, music, nature, and simple pleasures reminded all who knew him to embrace each day with openness and heart.

Mathew’s departure is a great loss, but his memory remains alive in the stories we share, the values he instilled, and the love he freely gave. As we reflect on his life, we are reminded of the importance of cherishing the moments we have and the people we hold dear.

A celebration of Mathew’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, Minnesota. All are welcome to attend and share in remembering a truly remarkable man. This gathering will be a time for family, friends, and loved ones to come together, honor Mathew’s memory, and offer support to one another in a spirit of unity and love.

Please keep Mathew’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we continue to honor his life by living with the same grace and kindness he showed to others every day.
