It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shawn Douglas McCoin, a beloved member of the Westmoreland community, who left us far too soon on April 21, 2025, at the age of 50. Shawn’s life, marked by love, laughter, and quiet strength, has left an enduring impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Shawn will be remembered as a man of integrity and kindness—someone who made a difference through small gestures and steadfast loyalty. He had a warm heart, an easygoing nature, and a spirit that uplifted those around him. Whether he was spending time with his family, lending a hand to a friend, or sharing a story that sparked laughter, Shawn embodied the true meaning of community and compassion.
He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, deeply mourned by his family, lifelong friends, and all who shared in his journey. His presence enriched the lives of many, and although words may fail to ease the sorrow of his loss, the love he gave and the joy he brought will live on in the hearts of those who carry his memory forward.
To honor his life and the many ways he touched others, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM, all taking place at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home in Westmoreland. Family, friends, and members of the community are invited to attend, celebrate Shawn’s life, and share in moments of reflection and remembrance.
All who wish to pay tribute are encouraged to send flowers, light a candle, or simply hold Shawn and his family in their hearts and prayers. These gestures, large and small, remind us of the strength found in unity during times of profound loss.
As we say goodbye to Shawn, we do so with heavy hearts but also with immense gratitude for the time we had. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
