IN CUSTODY: Busy Bee Roofing’s Andrew Ingram Arrested for Scamming Customers Out of Tens of Thousands

Andrew Ingram, a contractor associated with Busy Bee Roofing, was taken into custody last night following the issuance of multiple warrants for financial crimes connected to roofing scams in Volusia County. Authorities allege Ingram defrauded several homeowners out of large deposits by accepting payments for work he never completed—or, in some cases, never started at all.

One of the most significant complaints comes from a resident in Port Orange, who reported being scammed out of a $21,000 deposit after hiring Ingram to complete roofing work on their home. Despite paying the deposit in full, the homeowner alleges that no meaningful work was ever performed, and repeated attempts to contact Ingram were met with silence, vague excuses, or outright deception.

Another victim in Edgewater came forward, reporting a loss of $9,000 under similar circumstances. Like the Port Orange case, this homeowner claims Ingram accepted a substantial down payment, offered promises of timely completion, and then vanished without delivering any of the contracted services.

Following these complaints, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) launched an investigation through its Financial Crimes Unit, ultimately leading to the issuance of arrest warrants. Ingram was taken into custody without incident and now faces multiple charges of contractor fraud, theft, and deceptive business practices.

Authorities believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. Busy Bee Roofing had been operating throughout various parts of Volusia County, and investigators are urging anyone who may have been defrauded by Ingram or his business to step forward.

If you believe you have been a victim of Andrew Ingram or Busy Bee Roofing, please contact the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit at (386) 254-1537.

This arrest serves as a stark reminder for homeowners to always verify the credentials of contractors and to be cautious about handing over large sums of money before any work begins. While most contractors operate in good faith, bad actors like Ingram can cause severe financial and emotional harm to unsuspecting customers.

As the investigation continues, VSO is working to piece together the full scope of Ingram’s alleged activities. The community is encouraged to remain vigilant and proactive in reporting suspected scams.

  • Federal Authorities Release Photo of Suspect in Palm Springs Fertility Clinic Bombing

Federal Authorities Release Photo of Suspect in Palm Springs Fertility Clinic Bombing

Palm Springs, CA – Federal authorities have released the first photo of Guy Edward Bartkus, a 25-year-old man from Twentynine Palms, California, who has been identified as the sole suspect in the devastating bombing that occurred Saturday outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs. The incident, which has shocked the quiet desert community and drawn national attention, left four people injured and caused extensive damage to the facility.

According to investigators, Bartkus died in the explosion, which occurred just after 9:00 a.m. at the Desert Bloom Fertility Center, a prominent reproductive health facility located on the outskirts of downtown Palm Springs. Surveillance footage and witness testimony indicate that Bartkus approached the building alone and was carrying what authorities now believe was an improvised explosive device (IED). The device detonated shortly after he arrived at the scene, killing him instantly.

The blast shattered windows, sent debris flying across the parking lot, and caused a partial collapse of the clinic’s front entrance. Emergency responders rushed to the scene within minutes, transporting four injured victims—three clinic staff members and one patient—to nearby hospitals. All are expected to survive, though two remain in critical condition.

Authorities with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have been working in conjunction with local law enforcement to determine the motive behind the attack. While officials have not disclosed a definitive motive, early indications suggest that Bartkus may have had personal or ideological grievances related to the clinic’s work.

“This was a deliberate act of violence,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Dana Whitmore, speaking at a press conference Sunday morning. “We are actively investigating all leads, including the suspect’s background, communications, and possible connections to extremist groups or individuals.”

According to public records and social media accounts now under investigation, Bartkus had lived in the high desert town of Twentynine Palms for several years. He had no prior criminal record, but neighbors described him as increasingly reclusive in recent months. One former acquaintance described Bartkus as “troubled” and noted that he had recently expressed strong opinions about government oversight and biomedical ethics, though nothing that hinted at violent tendencies.

The release of Bartkus’s photo is part of a broader appeal to the public for information. Investigators are particularly interested in his activities in the days and weeks leading up to the bombing. “If you knew Guy Bartkus, had contact with him, or noticed anything suspicious, we urge you to come forward,” said Palm Springs Police Chief Miguel Hernandez.

As the investigation continues, the local community is grappling with the aftermath of the attack. The Desert Bloom Fertility Center remains closed while structural engineers assess the full extent of the damage. In the meantime, patients are being referred to nearby facilities, and counselors have been made available to both staff and clients affected by the tragedy.

City officials have emphasized their commitment to transparency and safety, vowing to enhance security protocols for local medical facilities and public buildings. “We will not allow fear to take root in our community,” said Palm Springs Mayor Judith Spencer. “Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and the entire staff at Desert Bloom.”

Authorities have stressed that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The FBI and ATF continue to process the scene and analyze evidence recovered from Bartkus’s vehicle and residence, hoping to piece together a clearer picture of what led to this tragic act of violence.

As more details emerge, the Palm Springs community and the broader public remain united in mourning, resilience, and a firm demand for answers.

AKRON, Ohio — Tragic Overnight Shooting Claims Life of 23-Year-Old Woman Outside West Akron Nightclub

Akron police detectives are actively investigating a fatal shooting that took the life of 23-year-old Diamond Fisk in the early hours of Sunday morning outside a nightclub in West Akron. The incident has shocked the community and prompted renewed calls for increased safety and violence prevention measures in nightlife areas.

According to a statement released by the Akron Police Department, the shooting occurred at approximately 2:16 a.m. in the parking lot of a McDonald’s adjacent to the Empire Lounge, a nightclub located on Merriman Road. At the time of the shooting, officers were already on scene working to disperse a large crowd that had gathered in the parking area outside the club.

What began as a routine crowd control operation quickly escalated into chaos when shots rang out nearby. Officers reported hearing the gunfire and responded immediately to the adjoining McDonald’s lot, where they discovered Diamond Fisk suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene and quickly transported Fisk to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, she was later pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and investigators are working diligently to piece together what led to the tragic event. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and speaking with witnesses who were present at the scene.

Authorities have not announced any suspects or arrests as of yet and have not disclosed whether they believe the shooting was a targeted attack or a random act of violence. However, the presence of law enforcement on the scene prior to the incident is expected to aid in the investigation.

Diamond Fisk’s identity was confirmed by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office later Sunday morning. Family members describe Fisk as a vibrant young woman whose life was tragically cut short. She is remembered for her warm spirit and loving nature, leaving behind grieving relatives and friends who are now calling for justice.

The Empire Lounge, while popular among local residents for its weekend nightlife, has seen police presence before due to previous disturbances. This latest incident adds to growing concerns about safety at entertainment venues and the need for tighter security measures to prevent violence.

In a press briefing Sunday afternoon, Akron Police Chief Brian Harding expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and urged anyone with information to come forward. “This young woman had her whole life ahead of her. We are committed to finding the person or persons responsible and bringing them to justice,” Harding stated.

The Akron Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has video footage from the area during the time of the shooting to contact the Akron Police Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS or by texting TIPSCO and a message to 274637 (CRIMES).

As the community grapples with this senseless act of violence, local leaders and residents alike are calling for unity and a collaborative effort to address the root causes of gun violence in Akron.

A candlelight vigil in memory of Diamond Fisk is reportedly being planned by family and friends, with more details expected in the coming days.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
