In Loving Memory of Fatty – National City, CA

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved outdoor companion, Fatty. Though never confined by walls or fences, Fatty was more than just a neighborhood cat—he was a constant presence, a source of joy, and an unofficial but wholly cherished member of our family in National City, California.

Fatty’s story is not one of ownership, but of companionship. He chose us in the way that only cats can—on his own terms, with quiet dignity, and a discerning heart. What began as occasional visits for food and warmth grew into something much deeper: a bond built on trust, affection, and mutual respect. Over time, his visits became routine, then essential. He was there waiting on the porch in the morning, basking in the sun by midday, and curling into his favorite spot by dusk. Every meow, every slow blink, every playful swat of his paw brought a smile and lightness to our hearts.

Fatty’s name, while playful, reflected his hearty appetite and even heartier presence. He had a way of making every spot he chose his own, filling it not just with his body, but with a calming energy that seemed to say, “This place is safe. This place is home.” His comfort in our presence, the way he would saunter up and sit just close enough to feel connected, was his way of showing love. It was gentle and unspoken, but always deeply felt.

The grief we feel now is not only for his absence but for the quiet, daily moments we shared—the familiar sound of his footsteps on the gravel, the way he’d sit and stare with those wise, knowing eyes, the soothing rhythm of his purring as he lounged in the fading evening light. Those simple yet profound interactions have left a lasting imprint on our hearts.

Fatty may have roamed the neighborhood freely, but he brought us together as a family in ways we could not have anticipated. He taught our children about patience, kindness, and the joy that comes from caring for another being. He reminded us of the beauty in quiet companionship and the simple comfort of being near someone who trusts you.

To our neighbors who also knew and loved Fatty, thank you for showing him kindness. To friends and family who have reached out with heartfelt condolences, your support has meant more than words can express. It is comforting to know that others, too, saw in him the unique soul that he was.

We will forever hold dear the memories of Fatty—of his gentle spirit, his quiet wisdom, and his unwavering presence. In a world that can often feel overwhelming and fast-paced, Fatty was a reminder to pause, to enjoy the moment, and to value the connections that truly matter.

Fatty, you may no longer walk this earth, but you live on in our hearts, in our stories, and in the quiet spaces you once filled. Thank you for choosing us, for trusting us, and for sharing your life with us. You will always be loved. You will never be forgotten.

    Rest in peace, dear friend.

  • Latest Developments in the Arrest of Vanessa Roman, Osceola County Code Enforcement Officer Accused of Package Theft

Latest Developments in the Arrest of Vanessa Roman, Osceola County Code Enforcement Officer Accused of Package Theft

In a case that has garnered widespread attention across Central Florida, Vanessa Roman, a Code Enforcement Officer for Osceola County, has been arrested on allegations of stealing a package containing a $600 iPhone. The incident, which came to light through a detailed arrest affidavit, raises serious questions about public trust, misuse of authority, and the strange circumstances surrounding the alleged theft.

According to the affidavit filed by investigating authorities, the incident began when Roman allegedly took possession of a package that did not belong to her. The package, which was delivered to a private property, reportedly contained a brand-new iPhone valued at approximately $600. Roman, who was working in her official capacity as a code enforcement officer at the time, claimed during an interview with a detective that she picked up the package “due to possibly seeing the owner of the land later in the day.”

However, her explanation quickly took a bizarre turn. Roman told investigators that after taking the package, she simply forgot about it — for nearly a week. This claim has raised eyebrows, particularly because the package remained inside her county-issued vehicle throughout that time.

Further adding to the confusion, the affidavit notes that Roman decided to open the package, although she did not specify why. To her apparent surprise, she allegedly found not a smartphone, but a box of Oreos inside. Investigators have not verified whether the contents were tampered with or replaced, and the original shipping documentation suggested the package contained an iPhone.

In a puzzling twist, Roman also admitted to tearing off the shipping label from the box. No explanation was given for this action either, though it could be seen as an attempt to conceal the identity of the intended recipient or the contents. She then placed both the package and the Oreos in her work vehicle, where they remained until the matter was brought to light.

During her interview, Roman denied ever seeing or handling an iPhone. Her story, however, has raised questions among law enforcement officers and the public alike, particularly due to the inconsistencies and lack of clear motive or reasoning behind her actions.

As the investigation continues, Osceola County officials have not commented in detail on Roman’s current employment status, though it is standard procedure in such cases to place the employee on administrative leave pending the outcome of legal proceedings. A spokesperson for the county issued a brief statement affirming that the county is cooperating fully with law enforcement and will take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation.

Legal analysts note that Roman could face charges related to theft and tampering with mail, depending on the outcome of the forensic examination of the package and its original contents. If the iPhone is confirmed to have been in the package when it was delivered, this could elevate the matter to a felony-level offense due to the value of the stolen item.

Public reaction to the case has been a mix of disbelief and frustration, particularly as it involves a public official entrusted with upholding the law and community standards. The case highlights ongoing concerns about accountability and transparency among local government employees.

The coming weeks will likely shed more light on the true nature of Roman’s actions, as investigators continue to gather evidence and potentially seek surveillance footage, delivery records, and witness statements. Meanwhile, the individual who was meant to receive the iPhone has not publicly commented, though it’s understood that they filed a report after noticing the package was missing.

As of now, Vanessa Roman remains at the center of a developing legal case that could have significant personal and professional consequences.

Yakima Police Investigating Fatal Shooting at Chesterley Skate Park Monday Night

Yakima, WA – May 13, 2025 — A tragic scene unfolded at Chesterley Skate Park on Monday night, as Yakima police responded to a fatal shooting that left a 36-year-old man dead. The incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m., prompting an immediate and heavy police presence at the popular park, which is located in a residential neighborhood and frequently visited by local families and youth.

According to Yakima Police Department officials, the victim was discovered at the scene suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.

Following a swift investigation, officers arrested a 22-year-old male suspect from Yakima in connection with the shooting. The suspect has since been booked into the Yakima County Jail on a charge of Murder in the Second Degree. As of Tuesday morning, police had not released the suspect’s name, but they confirmed that he is believed to be directly involved in the deadly confrontation.

Investigators say the incident may be gang-motivated — a disturbing possibility that has community leaders and residents concerned about escalating violence in the area. Yakima Police Chief Matt Murray expressed his department’s commitment to fully investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

“This is a tragic loss of life, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family,” Chief Murray stated. “We are actively pursuing all leads and working with our Gang Unit to determine if there is any gang affiliation connected to this case. We will continue our efforts to curb gang-related violence in our city.”

Chesterley Skate Park, located near 40th Avenue and River Road, has long been considered a safe space for local youth to skate, socialize, and enjoy recreational activities. Monday’s shooting has cast a shadow over that sense of security, raising new concerns about public safety, particularly in parks and open community spaces.

Local residents have voiced their shock and sadness over the shooting. “It’s heartbreaking to see something like this happen in a place where our kids come to have fun,” said Maria Rodriguez, a nearby resident. “We need to do more as a community to address the violence and support our young people.”

The Yakima Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information related to the case to come forward. Tipsters can remain anonymous by contacting Yakima County Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS or submitting a tip online.

As the investigation continues, city officials are calling for calm and cooperation. In a statement released Tuesday morning, Mayor Janice Deccio said, “We are grieving alongside the family and friends of the victim. Our city will not tolerate violence, and we will work together to support law enforcement in bringing justice in this case.”

The Yakima Police Department has promised to provide further updates as more information becomes available. Meanwhile, the community grapples with yet another painful reminder of the devastating impact of gun violence

The children were reportedly taken sometime earlier this week, prompting law enforcement to activate the AMBER Alert system in hopes of securing their safe return as quickly as possible.

Authorities believe Shoulders is not acting alone. She is said to be accompanied by 29-year-old Adan Osman Abdi, who has been identified as the male driver in the abduction. • HAZMAT ACTIVATION

    HAZMAT ACTIVATION

Emergency crews have responded to a serious hazardous materials incident following a major traffic accident in Washtenaw County on eastbound M-14, just west of Vorhies Road. Authorities have confirmed that over 100 gallons of diesel fuel have been spilled onto the roadway, triggering a Hazmat activation due to the environmental danger and safety risks to motorists and responders.

Tragically, one fatality has been reported in connection with the incident. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

    Details of the Incident:

At approximately [insert time if known], first responders were dispatched to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash involving a large commercial vehicle. The vehicle reportedly lost control, resulting in a rupture of its fuel tank and a substantial diesel fuel spill exceeding 100 gallons. The fuel spread rapidly across several lanes of eastbound M-14, creating hazardous driving conditions and posing significant risk of fire, environmental contamination, and long-term damage to infrastructure.

Due to the nature of the spill and the fatality involved, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, local fire departments, and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) are all on scene. A specialized Hazmat team has been activated and is currently working to contain and clean up the spill, neutralize environmental threats, and ensure the area is safe before reopening the highway.

    Public Safety and Traffic Impact:

    • Eastbound M-14 remains closed in the area west of Vorhies Road. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
    • Traffic is being diverted and delays are expected for several hours.
    • Cleanup crews are working swiftly, but the presence of hazardous materials and investigative procedures related to the fatality will extend the closure.
    • Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area entirely and to not attempt to bypass closures or enter restricted zones, as the diesel spill can be extremely slippery and flammable.

    Environmental Concerns:

Diesel fuel spills pose a serious environmental threat, particularly near sensitive ecosystems and waterways. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has been notified and may be assisting in assessing the environmental impact and coordinating the remediation process. Groundwater contamination and soil infiltration are among the concerns being addressed.

    Ongoing Investigation:

BREAKING NEWS: Structure Fire at 500 Block of S. 22nd Street, Saginaw, MI – SFD Responding with Box 5 Alarm

Saginaw, MI – Emergency crews from the Saginaw Fire Department (SFD) are actively responding to a significant structure fire reported in the 500 block of South 22nd Street. The alarm was received earlier this [morning/afternoon/evening], prompting an immediate Box 5 response due to the intensity and scale of the blaze.

Initial reports indicate that thick, black smoke and visible flames were seen billowing from a residential or potentially multi-unit structure in the area. Residents nearby reported hearing crackling sounds followed by the sight of fire rapidly spreading across at least one side of the building.

    SFD Mobilizes with Full Force

Upon notification, the Saginaw Fire Department dispatched multiple engines, ladder trucks, and support vehicles to the scene. The Box 5 response signifies a high-priority alarm level, typically triggered when a structure fire threatens to escalate due to size, occupancy, or potential exposure to nearby buildings.

Firefighters have begun an aggressive attack on the flames, establishing defensive lines to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. Water supply operations are underway, and crews are working to ventilate the structure and perform a primary search for any occupants who may have been trapped inside.

    Residents Urged to Avoid Area

The area around South 22nd Street has been cordoned off as fire personnel continue suppression efforts. Law enforcement is on site assisting with traffic control and maintaining a safe perimeter. Residents and motorists are strongly advised to avoid the vicinity to allow emergency crews full access to the scene.

    Unknown Injuries and Occupancy Status

At this time, it remains unclear if anyone was inside the structure when the fire broke out. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are on standby, and officials have not yet confirmed the presence of any injuries or fatalities. Fire investigators will assess the situation once the fire is under control.

    Weather Conditions and Response Challenges

[Insert weather information – e.g., high winds, frigid temperatures, or dry conditions] may be playing a role in fire behavior, complicating firefighting efforts. Firefighters are battling both the elements and the blaze, and additional support units may be called in depending on how the incident evolves.

  • Jordan Airen Albro Arrested Following Shocking September 2024 Crash in Saginaw

Jordan Airen Albro Arrested Following Shocking September 2024 Crash in Saginaw

Bridgeport, Michigan – May 13, 2025 — Jordan Airen Albro was arrested today shortly after 8:00 p.m. by the Bridgeport Police Department. Authorities confirm the arrest stemmed from an outstanding warrant for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), directly related to a harrowing crash that took place in September 2024.

The crash, which stunned the Saginaw community and garnered widespread attention on social media, occurred on the evening of September 7, 2024, at 2818 Beechwood Avenue near the intersection of Beechwood and Hess. According to reports from the Saginaw Police Department (SPD), Albro lost control of his vehicle, which rolled over, struck a house, and subsequently erupted into flames.

In a bizarre and dramatic twist, Albro was ejected from the vehicle onto the roof of the house. First responders arriving at the scene were met with a chaotic and dangerous situation. Firefighters had to deploy a ladder to reach Albro on the roof. Eyewitnesses noted that he attempted to stand up and move before emergency crews could reach him, moments before the wreckage burst into flames.

Adding to the gravity of the incident, a newborn baby was discovered under debris from the crash inside the home. Miraculously, the child was found unharmed, though understandably shaken. The home’s structural integrity was compromised, and fire crews from the Saginaw Fire Department (SFD) worked quickly to contain the flames.

The community was left shaken by the severity of the crash, the presence of an infant in the debris, and the clear indication that alcohol may have played a factor in the accident. Just weeks later, on October 3, 2024, a warrant was officially issued for Albro’s arrest, charging him with Operating While Intoxicated—a serious offense in the state of Michigan.

Nearly eight months after the crash, Albro’s freedom came to an end when Bridgeport officers apprehended him without incident. He was immediately taken into custody and is expected to face a range of consequences, including criminal prosecution and possible civil liability for the damages caused to the home and its occupants.

Social media videos of the incident circulated widely at the time, contributing to public outrage and community concern. Three videos—each capturing various angles and moments from the crash—were posted online and remain visible as stark documentation of the night’s chaos:

The original post about the incident described the event as follows:

     ACCIDENT – 9/7/2024
Vehicle rollover with ejection and house strike. Crash occurred at Beechwood and Hess. The vehicle caught on fire following the crash.
Update: The driver was ejected onto the roof. He attempted to get up before firefighters arrived with a ladder. Alcohol may have been a factor. SPD, SFD, and MMR responded.

Local authorities have stated that further charges could be filed pending the outcome of ongoing investigations. As of this evening, Albro remains in custody awaiting arraignment.

The community continues to express relief that no lives were lost in the shocking crash—especially the newborn whose survival has been called nothing short of miraculous. More updates are expected as the case progresses through the judicial system.

  • Tragic Shooting Claims Life of 42-Year-Old Man in Paterson, NJ During Sidewalk Robbery

Tragic Shooting Claims Life of 42-Year-Old Man in Paterson, NJ During Sidewalk Robbery

PATERSON, N.J. — A community is mourning the loss of a 42-year-old man, Rulsy Mata, who was tragically shot and killed during what authorities have described as a robbery gone wrong. The incident took place Sunday evening, May 11, around 6:30 p.m., near the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Lafayette Street—a busy area in the heart of the city’s 4th Ward.

According to law enforcement officials, Mata was engaged in a casual game of dominoes on the sidewalk with friends when the violence erupted. Witnesses report that a suspect, or possibly multiple individuals, approached the group with the apparent intention of committing a robbery. During the confrontation, gunfire broke out, fatally striking Mata. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The atmosphere turned chaotic as bystanders scrambled for safety, and others attempted to assist Mata before police and medical teams arrived. Residents in the area, many of whom are familiar with the regular weekend gatherings on that stretch of sidewalk, expressed deep sorrow and frustration.

“He was just out there relaxing, doing what he always did on weekends,” said a neighbor who asked to remain anonymous. “Now he’s gone, over something senseless.”

Mata, described by friends as a kind and easygoing man, was a familiar face in the neighborhood. He was known to enjoy spending his free time with friends and family, and his presence at local domino games had become a weekend ritual.

The Paterson Police Department, in collaboration with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, has launched an investigation into the shooting. Detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and security camera footage that might provide clues about the suspect or suspects involved. No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously to the Paterson Police or the Prosecutor’s Office tip lines.

This latest incident adds to a string of violence that has plagued Paterson in recent months, sparking renewed calls for community engagement and stronger anti-violence measures.

City leaders have expressed condolences to the Mata family and reiterated their commitment to improving public safety. “Our thoughts are with the family of Mr. Mata,” a city spokesperson said. “We must come together as a community to ensure this kind of tragedy does not happen again.”

As the investigation continues, a growing memorial of candles, flowers, and handwritten notes has appeared at the site of the shooting—a silent testament to the life lost and the community left grieving.

Rulsy Mata’s death marks yet another painful chapter in Paterson’s ongoing struggle with gun violence, but for those who knew him, he will be remembered as a peaceful, warm-hearted man whose life was taken far too soon.
