Tragic Two-Vehicle Crash Claims Life on Alamo Ranch Parkway: Victim Identified as Patricia Browning

San Antonio, TX – A devastating two-vehicle collision on Alamo Ranch Parkway has claimed the life of 52-year-old Patricia Browning, a beloved mother, friend, and community member. The crash, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, sent shockwaves through the local community and has left loved ones grieving the sudden loss of a woman known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family.

    The Crash

According to officials with the San Antonio Police Department, the fatal accident took place around 6:45 a.m. on Monday near the intersection of Alamo Ranch Parkway and Lone Star Parkway, a notoriously busy stretch that has seen a rising number of traffic incidents in recent years. Investigators report that the crash involved a silver SUV and a red sedan traveling in opposite directions. Preliminary findings suggest that one of the vehicles may have crossed the center line, leading to a head-on collision.

Emergency responders were quick to arrive on the scene. Bystanders reported hearing a loud impact and witnessing a chaotic scene with debris scattered across multiple lanes. Firefighters worked diligently to extract both drivers from the wreckage using hydraulic rescue tools. Tragically, Patricia Browning, who was driving the red sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident, including whether speed, distraction, or impairment played a role.

    Remembering Patricia Browning

Patricia Browning, a resident of the Alamo Ranch area, was known for her warm smile and the grace with which she handled life’s many challenges. Friends describe her as a woman of great faith and strength, someone who always put others first and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

“She was the kind of person who made you feel at home, even if you’d just met her,” said longtime friend and neighbor Carla Thompson. “She loved deeply, especially her two daughters, who were the light of her life. This is an unimaginable loss for everyone who knew her.”

Browning was a longtime employee of a local real estate agency and was praised by colleagues for her work ethic, honesty, and heartfelt approach to customer service. She often volunteered at community events, school fundraisers, and local shelters.

“She believed in giving back,” said her brother, Michael Browning. “Whether it was helping a neighbor mow their lawn or organizing a meal train for someone going through a hard time, Patricia was there. Always.”

A Call for Safety and Change

The fatal crash has reignited concerns about traffic safety on Alamo Ranch Parkway. Community leaders and residents alike have called on city officials to take immediate action to improve road conditions and implement additional safety measures, such as better signage, speed enforcement, and dedicated turn lanes.

“This is not the first tragic incident on this road,” said city councilmember Maria Gutierrez, who represents the district that includes Alamo Ranch. “We have heard the community loud and clear. It’s time to prioritize infrastructure improvements before another life is lost.”

A memorial with flowers, candles, and handwritten messages has begun to grow near the site of the crash, with many stopping to pay their respects to Patricia Browning and reflect on the fragility of life.

Tragic Collision Claims One Life in Far West Bexar County

    Bexar County, TX – April 23, 2025

A somber scene unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in far west Bexar County, as emergency crews responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision that left one individual dead, according to a statement from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). The crash, which occurred in a relatively remote area, drew a swift response from first responders and law enforcement officers, who worked through the afternoon to secure the site and investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene shortly after 2:30 p.m. following reports of a major accident near the intersection of Potranco Road and County Road 381. Upon arrival, deputies and emergency medical personnel found two vehicles—an SUV and a pickup truck—that had sustained significant damage. One of the vehicles had veered off the road and come to rest in a nearby ditch, while the other remained on the shoulder, its front end crumpled from the force of the impact.

Paramedics immediately began administering aid to the occupants of both vehicles. Despite their efforts, one individual—whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin—was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

BCSO officials indicated that the cause of the crash remains under investigation, though preliminary reports suggest that one of the vehicles may have crossed into the oncoming lane, leading to a head-on collision. Investigators remained at the scene for several hours, documenting the evidence, reconstructing the sequence of events, and interviewing witnesses who had stopped to help or observed the incident unfold.

The tragedy has cast a pall over the quiet stretch of roadway, where traffic accidents, though not uncommon, rarely result in fatalities. Local residents described the road as often busy during peak hours, with limited visibility and few stop signs in certain stretches. Some have called for increased signage and speed enforcement in the area, citing safety concerns that have been growing in recent years as development expands further westward.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of life in today’s crash,” said a spokesperson for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased. We will continue to investigate thoroughly to determine exactly what happened and whether any contributing factors—such as speed, distraction, or mechanical failure—played a role.”

As investigators piece together the events that led to the collision, community members have expressed grief and concern. Flowers and handwritten notes have already begun to appear near the site of the accident, a quiet gesture of solidarity and mourning in the face of sudden tragedy.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage from the area around the time of the accident to come forward and assist in the investigation.

This incident serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of vigilance behind the wheel. As the community grapples with the loss, county officials reaffirmed their commitment to improving road safety measures and supporting those impacted by such heartbreaking events.

  • MILTON, VERMONT (April 23, 2025)

    MILTON, VERMONT (April 23, 2025)

MILTON, VERMONT (April 23, 2025) – A routine emergency response turned into a harrowing ordeal Wednesday evening in the typically quiet community of Milton, Vermont. Law enforcement officials confirmed that a Milton Police Department officer was shot after an apparent ambush at the scene of a reported structure fire. The incident, which has since escalated into an armed standoff, has left residents shocked and authorities working tirelessly to bring the situation to a safe resolution.

    Emergency Call Turns Violent

At approximately 6:45 p.m., Milton Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire on East Milton Road. Upon arrival, first responders were unexpectedly met with gunfire, which investigators now believe was part of a premeditated ambush. According to Vermont State Police, a Milton officer was struck by a bullet during the initial exchange. The officer, whose name has not yet been released pending family notification, was rushed to the University of Vermont Medical Center with serious injuries. As of early Thursday morning, the officer remains in critical but stable condition.

    Suspect Identified, Standoff Ensues

Authorities quickly identified the suspected shooter as Jesse Roy, 43, a longtime resident of Milton. According to law enforcement, Roy barricaded himself inside the home following the gunfire. Law enforcement from multiple agencies, including the Vermont State Police Tactical Services Unit and neighboring municipal departments, responded swiftly to contain the scene and negotiate with Roy.

Residents in the immediate area were urged to shelter in place, and a perimeter was established to ensure public safety. Crisis negotiators have been in communication with the suspect intermittently, but as of this writing, the standoff remains unresolved.

    Community Shaken, Officials Respond

The town of Milton, known for its tight-knit community and low crime rate, is grappling with the shock of this unprecedented violence. Mayor Susan Driscoll addressed the town in a brief press conference late Wednesday night, stating, “This is a dark day for Milton. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured officer and their family. We are doing everything in our power to bring this incident to a peaceful end.”

Governor Phil Scott also issued a statement expressing support for local law enforcement and promising state resources to assist in the response. “Our brave first responders were targeted while protecting our community. This will not be tolerated. We are fully committed to bringing the perpetrator to justice.”

    Background on the Suspect

Details about Jesse Roy are still emerging, but preliminary reports indicate that he has had prior encounters with law enforcement, including a history of mental health issues. Neighbors described Roy as a reclusive figure, often seen tending to his property but rarely engaging with others in the community. It remains unclear what motivated the ambush or whether the fire was intentionally set as part of the trap.

    Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has joined local and state law enforcement in examining the scene, while fire investigators are working to determine the origin and cause of the blaze.

Milton Police Chief Andrew Cross addressed reporters, emphasizing the danger officers face every day. “This incident is a stark reminder of the risks our officers take each time they respond to a call. We will not rest until this suspect is apprehended and justice is served.”

    Community Support and Next Steps

As the situation continues to unfold, community members have come together in support of the injured officer and local first responders. A candlelight vigil is being planned for Thursday evening at Milton High School. Local businesses have also begun organizing fundraisers to assist the officer’s family during this difficult time.

The public is urged to avoid the area and monitor official updates from the Milton Police Department and Vermont State Police. Anyone with information related to Jesse Roy or the incident is encouraged to contact authorities immediately.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A Somber Mood Hangs Over Milwaukee’s South Side Following the Tragic and Sudden Death of Othon Herrera

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A wave of shock and sadness continues to ripple through Milwaukee’s south side after the tragic and unexpected death of Othon Herrera, a beloved community member whose presence touched the lives of many. Friends, family, and neighbors have been gathering in mourning, trying to come to terms with the sudden loss of a man they describe as kind-hearted, generous, and deeply committed to his community.

Herrera, whose roots in the south side stretch back decades, was known not only for his dedication to family but also for his involvement in local initiatives aimed at supporting youth, uplifting immigrant families, and strengthening neighborhood ties. His death, which occurred under circumstances still being investigated, has left many with unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss.

Local resident Maricela Torres, who knew Herrera since childhood, was among the dozens who lit candles and left flowers at a makeshift memorial near his home. “Othon was more than a friend,” she said. “He was someone you could count on—someone who made you feel seen. Losing him like this… it just doesn’t feel real.”

While authorities have yet to release official details surrounding his death, the emotional impact is evident. Grief counselors have been made available at nearby schools and community centers, as many young people who looked up to Herrera are struggling with the loss.

Community leaders and activists are calling for unity and compassion in the wake of the tragedy. Pastor Luis Martinez, who heads a church just blocks from Herrera’s home, offered prayers during a vigil held Monday night. “We come together not only to grieve,” he said, “but to celebrate a life that inspired so many. Othon was a beacon of light in dark times.”

Herrera’s work in community outreach included organizing back-to-school drives, mentoring at-risk youth, and advocating for safer streets. It’s this legacy of service that friends and supporters say they hope will live on in his memory. A GoFundMe campaign launched by his family has already seen overwhelming support, with hundreds contributing to help cover funeral expenses and support his surviving loved ones.

Milwaukee’s Common Council released a statement extending their condolences and praising Herrera’s contributions. “His passion and dedication to building a stronger, more connected Milwaukee made a difference. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.”

Plans for a public memorial service are currently underway, with organizers expecting a large turnout from across the city. Those closest to Herrera say it’s the least they can do to honor a life lived with purpose and heart.

As the community continues to reel from this heartbreaking loss, one sentiment seems to echo louder than the rest: Othon Herrera may be gone, but his spirit—and the love he gave so freely—will remain woven into the fabric of Milwaukee’s south side forever.
