  • London, KY – Tornado Leaves Devastation and Tragedy in Laurel County

London, KY – Tornado Leaves Devastation and Tragedy in Laurel County

London, Kentucky — A powerful tornado struck Laurel County late Friday night, leaving the community in shock and mourning as officials confirmed multiple fatalities in the city of London. The devastating storm carved a path of destruction through the region, toppling homes, uprooting trees, downing power lines, and leaving residents grappling with the aftermath of one of the worst weather events to hit the area in recent memory.

The tornado touched down just after 10 p.m., with little warning for residents. According to the National Weather Service, the storm intensified rapidly as it approached London, producing wind speeds estimated to be over 130 mph. The damage suggests the twister may have reached EF3 or higher on the Enhanced Fujita scale, although official classification is still pending.

Emergency services worked through the night and into the early morning hours, conducting search and rescue operations in neighborhoods reduced to rubble. First responders described scenes of chaos and heartbreak as they navigated collapsed structures and blocked roadways in their urgent efforts to reach survivors.

Laurel County Emergency Management Director, John Allen, addressed the media early Saturday morning. “This is a heartbreaking day for our community,” he said. “We’ve lost lives, and many families have lost everything. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragic event. We are working tirelessly to assist those in need and to assess the full extent of the damage.”

Dozens of homes were reported destroyed or severely damaged, particularly in the northern and central parts of London. Many residents were trapped in the debris and had to be extricated by rescue crews using heavy equipment. Shelters have been set up throughout the city for those displaced by the storm, with local churches, schools, and the Red Cross stepping in to provide emergency housing, food, and supplies.

“We could hear the roar coming, and then everything shook,” said Jennifer Collins, a London resident who survived the storm with her two children by sheltering in their basement. “When we came out, our house was gone. It’s just unbelievable.”

In the daylight, the full scale of the devastation began to emerge. Entire streets have been left unrecognizable, with vehicles overturned, debris scattered across fields, and power lines hanging precariously. Utility crews are working around the clock to restore electricity, though it may be several days before some areas are fully operational again.

Governor Andy Beshear issued a statement Saturday morning, expressing sorrow and solidarity with the affected communities. “Our hearts are broken for the people of London and Laurel County. We are coordinating closely with local authorities to provide support and ensure every necessary resource is available for recovery and relief. We will stand with this community every step of the way.”

As of Saturday afternoon, the exact number of fatalities has not been released, pending notification of next of kin, but officials have confirmed multiple deaths and several critical injuries. Hospitals in the region remain on high alert, treating those injured during the storm.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has urged residents to avoid affected areas unless absolutely necessary, to allow emergency services to operate efficiently. Volunteers and donations are already pouring in, as communities from across Kentucky and neighboring states rally to support those impacted.

Meteorologists continue to monitor the weather, as additional storms are forecast for parts of the region over the weekend. Residents are encouraged to stay alert, heed weather advisories, and have emergency plans in place.

For now, London, KY, begins the painful process of healing and rebuilding after a night of unimaginable terror and loss. The spirit of the community remains strong, as neighbors help neighbors, and a devastated town unites to recover in the face of tragedy.

Chaos at Adin Ross’s Miami Boxing Event: Antonio Brown Fires Shots Amid Alleged Robbery Attempt, Sparks Safety Concerns for Influencer-Led Sports

A chaotic scene erupted outside social media influencer Adin Ross’s “Brand Risk” boxing event in Miami on May 16, 2025, when former NFL star Antonio Brown allegedly discharged a firearm during a post-fight altercation. The incident, which was partially captured on video and widely circulated online, has sparked widespread concern and debate over the safety and legitimacy of influencer-led sporting events.

The Incident: Shots Fired Amid Attempted Robbery

According to multiple reports, the altercation began when several individuals allegedly attempted to snatch Antonio Brown’s chain as he exited the venue. In response, Brown reportedly pulled out a firearm and fired shots into the air, purportedly in self-defense. Footage shared on social media platforms, including Reddit and Instagram, appears to show Brown being subdued by security and law enforcement officers amid the ensuing chaos .

Witnesses described a scene of panic as attendees scrambled for safety. One video clip shows Brown being escorted out of the building by police, while another captures the moment gunshots were heard, causing widespread alarm among the crowd .

    Arrest and Aftermath

Following the incident, Antonio Brown was reportedly arrested at the scene. Videos circulating online depict Brown being restrained and taken into custody by law enforcement officers .

Despite the severity of the situation, Brown later returned to a livestream, appearing nonchalant and engaging with viewers as if nothing had occurred. This behavior has drawn criticism and raised questions about his mental state and the influence of CTE on his actions.

    Broader Implications and Public Reaction

The incident has ignited a broader conversation about the safety and oversight of influencer-hosted events. Adin Ross’s “Brand Risk” boxing series, known for featuring internet personalities and celebrities, has faced scrutiny in the past for its lack of professional regulation.

Social media users expressed a mix of shock and concern over the events. One commenter remarked, “Antonio Brown is a straight-up BADASS at Adin Ross BrandRisk boxing event in Miami! Dude got jumped outside the warehouse, but AB held his ground like a champ. Punched, chains targeted, he still fired shots in the air to clear the chaos. True grit, no surrender!” . Others questioned the adequacy of security measures and the decision to allow individuals with known behavioral issues to participate in such events.

The incident also raises concerns about the mental health of former athletes and the potential long-term effects of sports-related injuries. Brown’s reference to a “CTE blackout” underscores the need for greater awareness and support for individuals dealing with the aftermath of professional sports careers.

    Conclusion

The shooting outside Adin Ross’s boxing event serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with unregulated, influencer-led gatherings. As the popularity of such events continues to rise, there is an urgent need for stricter oversight and safety protocols to protect both participants and attendees. The incident also highlights the importance of addressing mental health issues among former athletes, ensuring they receive the support and care necessary to navigate life after professional sports.

As investigations continue, the public awaits further details on the legal ramifications for Antonio Brown and potential changes to the management of influencer-hosted events.

  • St. Louis Mourns the Loss of Patricia Pendleton After Tragic Church Collapse

St. Louis Mourns the Loss of Patricia Pendleton After Tragic Church Collapse

St. Louis, MO — A deep and painful silence now echoes through the halls where hymns and prayers once rang out. The Centennial Christian Church, a beloved pillar of the community for more than a century, now lies in ruins following a powerful and destructive weather outbreak that swept through the St. Louis area on Friday. Among the tragic consequences of the storm was the untimely death of Patricia Pendleton, a deeply devoted member of the congregation, whose presence at the church was as constant as the building’s stained-glass windows and towering steeple—until the very end.

Patricia Pendleton, a lifelong member and servant of Centennial Christian Church, was killed when the historic building collapsed during the severe weather event. Her death has sent waves of grief not only through the congregation but across the broader St. Louis community that knew her well.

Her husband, Harry Pendleton, confirmed her passing in a statement filled with both heartbreak and pride. With permission to share her name and photos, Harry wished to honor her life and legacy publicly. “She did everything at that church but sleep there,” he said, his voice a mixture of sorrow and admiration. “That place was her second home. She loved it, and she loved every person who walked through those doors.”

Patricia’s service to the church spanned decades. From coordinating events and leading Bible studies to preparing meals for the sick and mentoring young members of the congregation, her fingerprints were on nearly every ministry. She was the kind of person whose faith wasn’t just spoken but lived out daily—in acts of kindness, in her quiet strength, and in the way she made others feel seen and cared for.

Members of the Centennial Christian Church have been gathering for prayer vigils, candlelight memorials, and spontaneous moments of remembrance near the site of the collapse. As they sift through the physical rubble, they are also trying to piece together their emotional and spiritual strength in the wake of losing both a sacred space and a spiritual matriarch.

“She was the heart of this church,” said Rev. Alicia Monroe, the pastor of Centennial Christian. “We are not only mourning Patricia, we are mourning the loss of a legacy. She was a walking testimony of faith, love, and unwavering service.”

Community leaders across St. Louis have also expressed condolences, recognizing the broader impact Patricia had beyond church walls. She volunteered in neighborhood cleanups, helped organize food drives, and often acted as a quiet connector between local nonprofits and families in need.

Centennial Christian Church itself has long been a cornerstone of the community. Established in the early 20th century, it has been more than just a house of worship. It has been a gathering place for families, a refuge in times of crisis, and a hub for activism and justice in North St. Louis. The loss of the physical structure is profound, not only because of its historical significance, but because it held generations of memories for families like the Pendletons.

Now, with rebuilding on the horizon, the church community is clinging tightly to the stories, traditions, and lessons that Patricia embodied. Plans are already underway to establish a memorial fund in her name, aimed at supporting future reconstruction efforts and continuing the outreach programs she was so passionate about.

For Harry Pendleton, the loss is deeply personal, but he hopes others will remember Patricia not just for how she died, but for how she lived. “She was the kind of person who lifted everyone around her,” he said. “If you were down, she brought you up. If you were unsure, she gave you courage. And if you were lost, she reminded you of your worth.”

As St. Louis confronts the aftermath of the devastating storm, the life of Patricia Pendleton stands as a beacon—a reminder that even in the darkest moments, the legacy of love, faith, and service can endure.

Memorial services will be announced in the coming days, and the Pendleton family welcomes the community to join them in celebrating the life of a woman whose impact will not soon be forgotten.

  • Although We Are Tornado Warning Free at This Moment, the Tornado Threat May Continue Throughout the Overnight Hours

Although We Are Tornado Warning Free at This Moment, the Tornado Threat May Continue Throughout the Overnight Hours

As of now, no tornado warnings are currently active across the region — a much-needed break for communities that have been under stress from earlier storms. However, this does not mean we’re in the clear just yet. The atmospheric ingredients that sparked severe storms earlier today remain present, and conditions are still favorable for the development of additional storms capable of producing tornadoes throughout the overnight hours.

Overnight tornadoes are particularly dangerous. They’re harder to spot, harder to warn for, and often catch people off guard. Many fatalities from tornadoes occur at night when people are sleeping and unaware of rapidly changing weather conditions. That’s why it’s absolutely critical to stay weather aware, keep your phones charged, and ensure alerts are turned ON — especially wireless emergency alerts (WEAs) and any apps or NOAA radios you rely on.

Areas across Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, and Mississippi (tagged as #TNwx, #KYwx, #WVwx, #PAwx, #ARwx, and #MSwx) remain under the gun. A stalled frontal boundary, ample moisture, and a strong low-level jet could contribute to discrete supercells or clusters of storms redeveloping late tonight and into the early morning hours.

    What You Can Do:

•Charge all devices now and have multiple ways to receive warnings.

•Don’t silence your phone overnight. If you’re under a tornado watch, it’s not the night to mute alerts.

•Review your tornado safety plan. Know where your safe space is — a basement or small interior room on the lowest floor, away from windows.

•Talk to family and neighbors. Especially check on elderly folks or those without reliable access to alerts.

The threat is not over just because the radar looks quiet right now. Conditions can evolve quickly, and the atmosphere may reorganize during the overnight hours. Don’t let your guard down.

Stay safe out there — we’ll keep monitoring and updating as needed. If warnings are issued again tonight, take them seriously. Your safety is what matters most.

  • Chattanooga Police Fatally Shoot Fleeing Suspect Who Rammed Multiple Vehicles and Struck Officer

Chattanooga Police Fatally Shoot Fleeing Suspect Who Rammed Multiple Vehicles and Struck Officer

Chattanooga, TN — A high-speed pursuit through Chattanooga ended in tragedy Friday after police officers fatally shot a suspect who led them on a dangerous chase, rammed multiple vehicles, and struck an officer in a final attempt to escape.

According to Chattanooga Police Chief Jonathon Chambers, the incident began when officers attempted to apprehend a suspect wanted in connection with previous criminal activity. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released pending family notification, fled at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, initiating a chaotic pursuit through city streets.

Chief Chambers said the suspect “showed a blatant disregard for public safety,” weaving through traffic, running red lights, and putting countless motorists and pedestrians at risk. As the chase progressed, the suspect’s vehicle became temporarily trapped in congested traffic. In a desperate bid to escape, the suspect rammed the vehicles ahead of him, then reversed and rammed them again, creating chaos on the roadway.

“Rather than surrender, the suspect continued to endanger innocent lives, intentionally striking occupied vehicles multiple times,” Chambers said during a press briefing.

Eventually, the vehicle became disabled after mounting a curb. Officers moved in to bring the pursuit to an end. According to police, as they approached, the suspect suddenly accelerated forward, striking an officer with the vehicle. That’s when officers opened fire, fatally shooting the suspect.

Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer who was struck by the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police confirmed that a firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle, though it is unclear whether it was brandished during the encounter.

Chambers emphasized the split-second decisions officers were forced to make during a rapidly evolving and dangerous situation. “This is not the outcome we ever want,” he said. “But when someone actively endangers the lives of the public and our officers, we are compelled to act to protect others.”

A photo from a prior arrest of the suspect has been circulated as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are reviewing body camera footage and collecting witness statements as part of a standard protocol following an officer-involved shooting.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has taken over the investigation, as is customary in such incidents. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Community members have expressed concern over the violence and disruption caused by the pursuit. Local leaders are urging patience and calm as more details emerge.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

  • SOMERSET, KY — Mass Casualty Incident Declared Following Devastating Tornado Strike

SOMERSET, KY — Mass Casualty Incident Declared Following Devastating Tornado Strike

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (Friday Evening) — A mass casualty incident has been declared in Somerset, Kentucky, after a powerful tornado ripped through the southern part of the city late Monday evening. The storm left a wide swath of destruction in its wake, leveling structures, overturning vehicles, and injuring an unknown number of residents. Emergency crews are still in the early stages of assessing the full extent of the damage.

According to officials, the most significant tornado damage occurred along South Highway 27, a heavily trafficked corridor that runs through the heart of Somerset’s commercial district. The areas near Stoplight 22 and Parkers Mill Road were hit particularly hard. Eyewitnesses reported seeing buildings flattened, utility poles snapped in half, and debris scattered across roadways and parking lots.

Pulaski County emergency management confirmed that search and rescue operations began immediately after the tornado passed, with first responders combing through damaged structures in hopes of finding survivors. Numerous emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire engines, and rescue trucks, converged on the impacted zones within minutes of the storm’s departure. Somerset Police and Fire Departments, along with Pulaski County EMS, have been working in coordination with state emergency services to manage the crisis.

“This is a major emergency,” said Pulaski County Judge-Executive Steve Kelley during a press briefing late Monday night. “We’ve activated all available resources, and we’re asking the public to stay away from the affected areas to allow first responders to do their jobs. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.”

Local hospitals, including Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, have enacted mass casualty protocols to prepare for an influx of injured patients. Medical staff have been called in from surrounding counties, and additional trauma teams are being dispatched to the area. The Kentucky National Guard has also been notified and may be mobilized to assist with recovery efforts.

Power outages have been reported across large sections of Somerset and southern Pulaski County, with utility companies working through the night to assess and begin repairs. Dozens of downed lines and damaged substations have left thousands without electricity, complicating rescue efforts and increasing hazards for both residents and emergency personnel.

Photos and video shared on social media depict scenes of devastation: a strip mall reduced to rubble, a gas station canopy twisted into metal fragments, and residential homes left without roofs. Residents describe moments of sheer terror as the tornado approached, many of them taking shelter in basements or interior rooms with just minutes to spare.

“I could hear the wind howling like a freight train,” said Jennifer Collins, a local resident who lives near Parkers Mill Road. “It only lasted a couple of minutes, but it felt like forever. When we came out, everything was gone.”

Governor Andy Beshear has been briefed on the situation and expressed his condolences via social media, stating, “We are monitoring the devastating tornado event in Somerset and coordinating with local officials. Kentucky stands ready to provide whatever assistance is necessary.”

The National Weather Service has yet to confirm the tornado’s rating on the Enhanced Fujita (EF) Scale, but preliminary observations suggest it may have been a strong EF2 or possibly EF3, based on the extent of the structural damage.

A temporary shelter has been established at the Center for Rural Development to accommodate displaced residents, and donations of food, water, blankets, and clothing are being accepted by local churches and civic organizations.

Residents are being urged to stay off roads unless absolutely necessary and to report any missing persons to local authorities. Drones and personal aircraft have been banned in the affected area to prevent interference with emergency operations.

As dawn approaches, Somerset is facing a long and painful recovery. With damage assessments ongoing and the full human toll yet to be determined, this tornado event is already shaping up to be one of the most devastating natural disasters to strike Pulaski County in recent memory.

Officials expect to release more detailed information in the coming hours as rescue efforts continue and the scope of the disaster becomes clearer.

  • Chattanooga Police Fatally Shoot Fleeing Suspect After High-Speed Chase and Violent Vehicle Assault

Chattanooga Police Fatally Shoot Fleeing Suspect After High-Speed Chase and Violent Vehicle Assault

Chattanooga, TN — A dramatic and deadly police chase unfolded in Chattanooga when officers were forced to fatally shoot a suspect who had led them on a perilous high-speed pursuit, rammed multiple vehicles, and struck an officer in a final act of resistance.

Chattanooga Police Chief Jonathon Chambers detailed the harrowing series of events in a press conference on Friday evening, expressing both the seriousness of the situation and the threat posed to the public and law enforcement.

According to Chief Chambers, the incident began when officers attempted to apprehend a suspect in connection with an ongoing investigation. The man, whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin, fled from officers in a vehicle, reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour as he raced through city streets.

“This was not a simple traffic stop gone wrong,” Chief Chambers stated. “This individual was determined to evade law enforcement, no matter the cost to public safety.”

The chase stretched across multiple city blocks, drawing in dozens of responding units. As traffic thickened, the suspect’s vehicle became trapped among civilian cars. In a desperate effort to escape, the suspect rammed into the cars in front of him. Witnesses reported hearing the sounds of metal crunching as the suspect reversed and accelerated repeatedly, damaging several vehicles and endangering drivers and passengers.

One driver, who wished to remain anonymous, recounted the terrifying moment. “He hit my car twice, just pushed me forward like I was nothing. I couldn’t go anywhere. People were screaming. It was chaos.”

Eventually, the suspect’s vehicle became immobilized after jumping a curb. Officers quickly surrounded the car in an attempt to end the pursuit peacefully. However, in a final, violent act, the suspect abruptly lurched the vehicle forward—striking an officer who was approaching on foot.

“It was at that moment,” Chief Chambers said solemnly, “when our officers were confronted with an immediate and deadly threat. The suspect’s vehicle was used as a weapon, and an officer was directly hit.”

Fearing for their lives and the lives of others at the scene, officers discharged their weapons, fatally wounding the suspect. Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter but pronounced the suspect dead at the scene. The injured officer, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has taken over the case and will conduct an independent review of the shooting, which is standard procedure in incidents involving the use of deadly force by law enforcement.

Chief Chambers emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability throughout the investigation. “We never want to end a day with a life lost. Our officers are trained to preserve life. But when faced with a threat like this—someone using a vehicle as a weapon, harming innocent people and our officers—they are forced to make split-second decisions to protect lives.”

The events have drawn strong reactions from the community, with many expressing support for the officers involved while others call for a thorough investigation into the necessity of lethal force.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage to come forward as they piece together the complete timeline of the chase and shooting.

As the city grapples with the aftermath, Chief Chambers offered words of reassurance: “Chattanooga is safer tonight because our officers acted bravely in the face of extreme danger. But this is a tragedy for everyone involved. Our hearts go out to the family of the suspect and to our injured officer. We will continue to serve and protect this community with transparency and integrity.”

The identity of the suspect, as well as bodycam footage from the incident, is expected to be released in the coming days, pending the conclusion of preliminary investigations by the TBI.
