In Loving Memory of Andrew Shane Stensrud
October 14, 1982 – April 21, 2025
Red Wing, Minnesota
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we share the passing of Andrew Shane Stensrud, who departed this life on April 21, 2025, at the age of 42. Andrew was a beloved son, a cherished friend, and a bright soul whose presence warmed the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing him.
Born and raised in Red Wing, Minnesota, Andrew grew up surrounded by the beauty of the bluffs, the Mississippi River, and the tight-knit community he came to call home. A proud graduate of Red Wing High School, he was known for his quiet strength, quick wit, and a smile that could brighten even the cloudiest day.
Andrew had a heart for helping others and a deep sense of compassion that guided him throughout his life. Whether lending a hand to a neighbor, supporting a friend through tough times, or volunteering in the community, he always put others before himself. His generosity knew no bounds, and his authenticity was refreshing in a world that so often values appearances over substance.
In his professional life, Andrew was known for his dedication and work ethic. He approached each task with thoughtfulness and care, always striving to make a difference in the lives of those around him. He took pride in doing things the right way — not for praise or recognition, but because it was simply the kind of person he was.
Outside of work, Andrew found joy in the simple things. He loved being outdoors — hiking local trails, fishing along the river, or just enjoying the peacefulness of nature. He had a deep appreciation for music, often finding comfort and inspiration in his favorite songs. His laughter was infectious, and his presence brought a sense of calm and ease to any room he entered.
Family meant everything to Andrew. He held a special place in his heart for each of his loved ones and was fiercely loyal and protective of those closest to him. He was the kind of person you could always count on — steadfast, sincere, and full of quiet wisdom. His kindness, humility, and unwavering love left a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to be part of his life.
Though Andrew’s time with us was far too short, the impact he made will live on in the memories we hold and the stories we share. He taught us the value of genuine connection, the importance of kindness, and the strength found in vulnerability.
Andrew is survived by a loving family, devoted friends, and a community that mourns his loss deeply while celebrating the life he lived so fully. His spirit will continue to guide us, a gentle reminder to live with purpose, love without hesitation, and always look for the good in others.
A visitation to honor Andrew’s life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home in Red Wing. A celebration of life will follow on Sunday, April 27, 2025, where friends and family are invited to come together, share stories, and honor the legacy Andrew leaves behind.
Let us gather not only in sorrow but also in gratitude — for the gift of Andrew’s life and the light he brought into the world. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be a guiding star in the hearts of all who loved him.
