Missouri Woman Charged After Allegedly Shooting Two Women Who Tried to Break Up a Fight in Park

JENNINGS, MO — In a shocking and deeply disturbing incident, 23-year-old Imani Easly of University City, Missouri, has been formally charged with shooting two women during a violent confrontation at Koeneman Park on Saturday, May 30. The attack, which unfolded in broad daylight and was captured on Facebook Live, has sent shockwaves through the community and reignited concerns about escalating violence in public spaces.

    A Fight Turns Violent

The incident began as a physical altercation between two unidentified individuals at the popular suburban park in Jennings. As tensions escalated, two women—bystanders who reportedly had no part in the initial dispute—stepped in to try and de-escalate the situation. According to investigators and multiple witness accounts, the women attempted to intervene peacefully in hopes of stopping the fight from spiraling out of control.

But what happened next stunned everyone watching.

Witnesses say that Imani Easly, who was present during the fight, suddenly produced a firearm and opened fire. One woman was struck in the arm, and the other suffered a far more serious wound to her chest. Both victims were rushed to the hospital for emergency medical treatment. Their current conditions have not been officially released, though early reports suggest both women survived the shooting.

Caught on Camera, Identified by Witnesses

What might have been a complex investigation was rapidly accelerated thanks to a live Facebook video that captured the shooting as it happened. The graphic footage circulated online and was quickly handed over to law enforcement, providing clear evidence of the attack and Easly’s alleged involvement.

Eyewitnesses at the scene further corroborated the video footage, identifying Easly as the shooter. St. Louis County Police moved swiftly, arresting Easly shortly after the incident.

    A Shocking Admission

According to the arrest affidavit, Easly admitted to firing the weapon during police questioning. This confession, combined with the video evidence and witness testimony, has led to her being charged with five felony counts, including:

    •First-degree assault

    •Armed criminal action

•Two counts of unlawful use of a weapon

•One count of unlawful possession of a firearm (if applicable, pending additional background verification)

Her bond has been set at $500,000 cash-only, underscoring the severity of the alleged offenses and the potential danger to the public. She is currently being held in the St. Louis County Jail pending further court proceedings.

    Community Reaction

The community of Jennings and the broader St. Louis area are grappling with the implications of the incident. Koeneman Park, a location typically associated with family gatherings and community events, became the backdrop for what authorities describe as a preventable tragedy.

Local residents and activists have voiced frustration over the normalization of violence, especially the increasing presence of firearms during disputes. Some have called for greater security and mental health resources, while others are urging elected officials to take more aggressive steps in addressing gun violence in the region.

“This was supposed to be a safe place,” one parkgoer told local media. “Now people are afraid to bring their kids here. It’s heartbreaking.”

    What Happens Next

Imani Easly is scheduled to appear in court on June 9 for her initial hearing, followed by a second court appearance on July 2. Prosecutors are expected to pursue the case vigorously, citing both the public nature of the attack and the endangerment of multiple lives.

Authorities have not released any motive behind Easly’s actions, and it remains unclear whether she knew the victims prior to the incident. Additional charges could be added as the investigation continues.

As this case develops, it will likely serve as a flashpoint in Missouri’s ongoing debate over public safety, gun control, and community responsibility.

    A Reminder of the Risk

This event is a tragic reminder of how quickly situations can escalate—and how people attempting to do the right thing can become victims themselves. The two women who stepped in to prevent violence were met with violence instead, turning a moment of courage into a life-threatening ordeal.

As the legal process unfolds, one thing remains clear: communities are demanding accountability, change, and justice for those who are harmed simply for standing up against conflict.

Spartanburg County Mourns Two Lives Lost in Tragic Motorcycle Crash

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA — A profound sense of sorrow hangs over Spartanburg County this week as the community comes to terms with a heartbreaking tragedy. Two people—60-year-old Bobby Goode and 37-year-old Sarah Brittany McElrath—lost their lives in a devastating motorcycle crash that has left loved ones reeling and an entire community mourning.

The crash occurred over the weekend on a quiet stretch of road in Spartanburg County, a place usually filled with peaceful scenery and the hum of everyday life. According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, Bobby Goode was operating the motorcycle at the time of the incident, with Sarah McElrath riding as his passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene following the violent impact.

Details about the crash remain under investigation, but preliminary reports suggest that the motorcycle may have lost control, possibly due to excessive speed, an unexpected road hazard, or a mechanical failure. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but tragically, there was nothing that could be done to save either individual.

For those who knew Bobby Goode, he was more than just a rider—he was a beloved father, friend, and neighbor known for his warm smile and generous heart. A longtime resident of the area, Bobby had a passion for motorcycles and a deep appreciation for the freedom of the open road. Friends remember him as someone who never hesitated to help others and always had a story to share.

Sarah Brittany McElrath, affectionately known as Brittany by her friends and family, was described as a bright and energetic soul who brought joy to every room she entered. At just 37 years old, she had a zest for life and an adventurous spirit that was contagious. Her loss is particularly painful for those closest to her, many of whom took to social media in the aftermath of the crash to share memories, prayers, and messages of love.

The accident has shaken Spartanburg County, where tragic motorcycle accidents have, unfortunately, become an all-too-familiar headline. Community members are calling for increased awareness about motorcycle safety, both for riders and other motorists who share the road. Advocates are reminding everyone of the importance of wearing protective gear, staying alert, and obeying traffic laws—particularly during the summer months when motorcycle traffic peaks.

In the wake of this tragic loss, friends and relatives have begun organizing memorials to honor Bobby and Brittany’s lives. A candlelight vigil is reportedly being planned at a local park, where those who loved them can gather to share stories, offer comfort, and begin the process of healing. Funeral arrangements are also being made and will be announced in the coming days.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with traffic investigators and the coroner’s office, continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash. They are urging any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation.

As the community grapples with this loss, the legacy of Bobby Goode and Sarah Brittany McElrath will live on in the hearts of those they touched. Their memory now rides in the wind, carried forward by those who loved them, in a county united in grief and remembrance.

Tragic Collision on I-86 Claims Life of Lowman Man in Chemung, N.Y.

TOWN OF CHEMUNG, N.Y. (WETM) — A devastating crash on Interstate 86 in the Town of Chemung has claimed the life of a Lowman resident, sending shock and sorrow through the local community. The New York State Police confirmed on Tuesday, June 3, that 67-year-old John E. Miller was the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred on Monday, June 2, 2025.

According to the preliminary investigation by state police, the incident involved a sedan driven by Miller and a tractor-trailer. Authorities report that Miller was traveling in the wrong direction on I-86 at the time of the crash, a critical detail that appears to have been the primary factor leading to the tragic outcome.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls about the collision. Upon arrival, first responders found both vehicles significantly damaged. Despite life-saving efforts, John E. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chemung County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, whose identity has not been publicly released, was also injured in the crash. Their condition has not been disclosed, but sources indicate that the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

This fatal accident has prompted both grief and questions in the community. Those who knew Miller describe him as a lifelong Chemung County resident who was kind-hearted, soft-spoken, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His sudden passing leaves a void in the lives of family, friends, and neighbors who are still coming to terms with the loss.

As of now, investigators are still working to determine why Miller was driving on the wrong side of the highway, and whether factors such as a medical emergency, weather conditions, or other circumstances may have contributed to the incident. Toxicology reports and further forensic analysis are expected to assist in clarifying the events that led up to the crash.

The tragic event has also reignited concerns about wrong-way driving incidents, which, though rare, are often fatal. Local law enforcement and state agencies are reminding motorists to remain vigilant and aware while traveling on highways, particularly in areas with complex interchanges or limited visibility.

The section of I-86 where the crash occurred was temporarily closed for several hours while authorities investigated and cleared the wreckage. Traffic was rerouted, causing minor delays in the area.

As the Chemung County community mourns, tributes for Miller have begun to emerge online, with condolences pouring in from across the Southern Tier. Loved ones are remembering his warm presence and generous spirit.

Funeral arrangements for John E. Miller are expected to be announced by his family in the coming days. In the meantime, the New York State Police continue to urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to come forward as the investigation continues.

Tragedy on the Tracks: Woman Fatally Struck by Train in Exeter While Attempting to Save Dog

EXETER, NH — June 3, 2025 — A peaceful afternoon turned tragic on Monday, June 2, when a pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in Exeter, New Hampshire. The heartbreaking incident occurred at approximately 3:24 p.m. in a wooded area along the tracks near the Newfields Road trestle. Local authorities and emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call from Amtrak personnel.

According to preliminary findings from the Exeter Police Department, Exeter Fire and Rescue, and Amtrak Police, the victim—identified as 42-year-old Alicia Leonardi of Plaistow, NH—was walking alongside the railroad tracks with a male companion and their dog when the tragedy unfolded. Investigators believe that the couple was unaware of the approaching train as it came around a curve, limiting visibility and giving little time to react.

As the train drew near and sounded its horn, their dog—who was off-leash—became startled and darted onto the tracks. Both Leonardi and her companion reportedly rushed to save the animal, but the speed and proximity of the train made escape impossible.

Leonardi was tragically struck and pronounced dead at the scene. Her companion, who has not been publicly identified, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by first responders. The dog also did not survive the collision.

Authorities from the CSX Police, Amtrak Police, and local law enforcement are collaborating to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident. The train was halted for several hours as investigators collected evidence and cleared the scene.

Exeter Police issued a statement following the tragedy:

“This is an incredibly difficult and sorrowful incident. Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Alicia Leonardi. The actions taken in the final moments were of bravery and instinct, and the pain this community feels is shared deeply by all involved in the response.”

Alicia Leonardi was a beloved member of the Plaistow community, remembered by friends and neighbors for her warmth, generosity, and deep love for animals. The sudden and tragic nature of her passing has left many in shock, mourning the loss of a woman who embodied compassion and kindness.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are urging the public to respect the privacy of the victim’s family during this time of profound grief. As part of the continuing review, law enforcement is also using this incident as a solemn reminder of the dangers associated with walking on or near railroad tracks, even in seemingly quiet or wooded areas.

This marks yet another sobering example of how quickly life can change in an instant, and it underscores the importance of rail safety awareness. In the wake of this tragedy, local authorities may consider renewed efforts to educate the public and enforce safe behavior near train lines.

Funeral arrangements for Alicia Leonardi are expected to be announced in the coming days. The community is rallying around her family, offering support, prayers, and condolences as they navigate this devastating loss.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information is encouraged to contact the Exeter Police Department.

Tragedy Strikes Quiet Columbia Neighborhood: Two Dead, One Injured in Shocking Shooting Incident

Columbia, TN — What was once a peaceful Saturday afternoon in a serene Columbia neighborhood quickly turned into a nightmare when a sudden and violent shooting unfolded on May 31, 2025. Residents of the 3000 block of Somerset Lane were left stunned and fearful as gunfire erupted in what authorities are calling a horrific and seemingly random act of violence.

The Incident: Horror Unleashed in Broad Daylight

At approximately 3 p.m., Columbia Police received frantic calls reporting gunshots in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic and heartbreaking scene. Three people had been shot — two of them fatally.

According to arrest records and witness statements, the suspect, Byron Childers, was seen casually walking down the street armed with multiple firearms, including an AR-style rifle and a pistol, both equipped with suppressors.

Witnesses described Childers as seemingly detached from the world around him as he opened fire without warning.

    Victim One: John Bidle

Childers’ first target was 46-year-old John Bidle, who was shot multiple times in the roadway. Witnesses recounted hearing Childers shout disturbing phrases such as “Demon from hell” and “It was safe now” as the shots rang out. Despite emergency efforts, Bidle was declared dead at the scene, leaving his family and friends devastated by the senseless loss.

    Victim Two: Stacie Wright

As panic spread through the neighborhood, 51-year-old Stacie Wright responded to the commotion by opening her front door to investigate. Tragically, Childers turned his attention toward her and fired several rounds at the doorway. Wright was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but succumbed to her injuries during surgery. Her husband, who witnessed the attack from inside the home, is now left to grapple with the unimaginable trauma of losing his wife in such a violent way.

    Victim Three: Innocent Bystander

The shooting also affected an innocent bystander — an ice cream truck driver passing through the neighborhood at the time. The driver reported seeing Childers carrying the two firearms and was struck in the hip by gunfire. Multiple bullet holes were found on the side of his vehicle. Fortunately, he survived and was taken to Vanderbilt for treatment and is expected to recover.

    Suspect in Custody, Charges Pending

Law enforcement officials swiftly apprehended Byron Childers following the shooting. He is currently in custody and faces multiple serious charges related to the shootings, including two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. The motivation behind Childers’ violent rampage remains unclear, and police have not disclosed any known connections between the suspect and the victims.

    Community in Shock and Mourning

The tragic events on Somerset Lane have sent ripples of grief and fear throughout Columbia. Neighbors who once felt safe in their quiet community are now left questioning how such horror could occur so close to home.

Local officials have expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and urged the public to come together in support during this painful time. Counseling services and community meetings are being organized to help residents cope with the aftermath.

    Ongoing Investigation

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting. Police are examining Childers’ background, searching for possible motives, and reviewing surveillance footage and witness testimonies. The community anxiously awaits answers and hopes for justice to be served.
